Skiing areas in Georgia:
Main Georgian skiing areas are found in the three regions:
Gudauri, biggest ski area in the eastern Georgia at altitudes up to 2,000 and 2,500 m asl. hosting numerous competitions
Heliskiing is one of Gudauri’s, most distinctive offerings and it provides skiers with access to some of the finest powder-snow in the Caucasus. With helicopters granted almost unrestricted access to local mountains, skiers can experience some of the most sublime runs in Europe – at altitudes between 1,500 and 4,200 meters above sea level.
Bakuriani, one of the main winter resorts in Georgia, with 3 big skiing areas: at an altitude of up to 1700 m asl. Bakuriani provides excellent conditions for the admirers of ski-mountaineering, good downhill and cross-country skiing areas for skiers of all abilities. Sixteen tracks are found here of hard, medium, and easy levels both for beginners, amateurs and professionals. There is a Park area in Bakuriani with the ice-rink for skaters. One can enjoy snowmobiles, toboggans, sledges and quads too.
Mestia, emerged as a competitor to Bakuriani and Gudauri at an altitude of up to 1500 m asl. Here the newly-constructed lift station is 1500 meters above sea level surrounded by 3,000–5,000 meter peaks. Heli-skiing and summer skiing on the high peaks attracts many skiers from around the world. We suggest to take the adventure snowmobile tour in Svaneti, that will give you the opportunity to discover the amazing landscape of Georgian Mountains while enjoying a fun time on snowmobiles. You can choose between tours lasting from 1 to 4 hours.
