Day 1 : Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Oban Distillery
From Glasgow or Edinburgh head north in to Scotland's raw natural landscapes along the banks of Loch Lomond through theTrossachs National Park. Possibly stop at Inveraray and Inveraray Castle on route to Oban to visit this charming port home of Mccaigs tower overlooking the docks and the famous Oban Whiskey Distillery.
Day 2 : Glencoe, the road to the Isles and Clan Donald Centre
Continue north along Scotland's glorious west coast passing through port of Fort William and in the shadow of Scotland's tallest mountain Ben Nevis, before taking the road to the islands. Stop to see the Glenfinnan viaduct as featured in the Harry Potter movies and the Glenfinnan Monument before taking a ferry to the stunning Isle of Skye where you can visit the Clan Donald centre seat of an ancient clan.
Day 3 : The Isle of Skye
Spend today exploring the breathtaking natural beauty of this peaceful island; from the quaint port town of Portree, to the Cuillin Hills, to the Trotternish Peninsula with its natural features such as "Kilt Rock" and "the Old Man of Storr". make a possible visit to Dunvegan Castle, home of the Macleod Clan, or the distillery of famed malt whisky Talisker.
Day 4 : Eilean Donan Castle, Urquhart Castle, and Loch Ness
Cross back to the mainland via Skye Bridge and visit one of Scotland's icons at Eilean Donan Castle reaching out in to the Loch. Continue in to the Great Glen and along the banks of the eerie Loch Ness before making a visit to the stunning Urquhart Castle on the weather beaten shores. Time permitting you may choose to stop at the Loch Ness visitor centre to unravel the mysteries of Nessie before arriving in Inverness.
Day 5 : Inverness, Culloden Moor and Fort George
Today explore Inverness, capital of the Highlands, and its castle and museum before heading off in to the surrounding countryside to uncover a wealth of cultural sites. Nearby you will find Culloden Moor and visitor centre site of the ancient battlefield and the fairytale castle of Cawdor Castle, romantically connected to Macbeth by Shakespeare. Another potential visit is the magnificent example of 18th century military engineering at Fort George.
Day 6 : Pitlochry, the Wallace Monument and Historic Stirling
From Inverness, travel south through the stunning Highland scenery of the Cairngorm National Park and in to the heart of Scotland. You may choose to stop at Blair castle or in quaint Victorian market town of Pitlochry on route to Edinburgh.
