Day 1 : Johannesburg City Tour
Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your local hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy an afternoon Johannesburg City Tour.
Day 2 : Johannesburg Township Orientation
This morning your guide will collect you at +-08h00 for a Morning SOWETO tour. Soweto is a cluster of townships on the south western flank of Johannesburg and was created in the 1930's. It is the biggest black urban settlement in Africa with a rich political history. From the foot bridge of the Chris Hani hospital the largest on the continent, one can get a panoramic view of Soweto. Visit the Hector Peterson Memorial in Orlando West, built in memory of the people who died on 16 June 1976. The Mandela House museum is an interesting stop over for those keen to imbibe a slice authentic history. You can also have a glimpse of the mansion belonging to Winnie Mandela, Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu's house and the Sisulu Residence, which are all in the same street. Lunch will be at the famous Wandies Restaurant (Own account).
After Lunch we will head to the Apartheid Museum where you will be taken on journey through this horrendous period in the history of South Africa.
Day 3 : Panorama Route
This morning we leave for Mpumalanga, dropping several hundred feet into the lush subtropical region of the Lowveld. Travel along the circular Panorama Route via Graskop, visiting the view sites of the Blyde River Canyon, one of the natural wonders of Africa; gasp at the glory of God’s Window, with a boundless view of mountains and fertile plains and finally a visit to Bourke's Luck Potholes before heading to Hazyview.
Day 4 : Kruger Big 5 Safari Drive
A bright and early start to the day in order to enjoy the wonders of exploring the Kruger National Park in an open safari jeep. Enter the park and keep a lookout for the wonderful flora and bird life that abounds. The Kruger National Park is an internationally renowned game reserve of nearly 2 million hectares and supports the largest variety of wildlife species on the African continent. Spend the day in search of game before returning to your hotel.
Day 5 : Kingdom of Swaziland / Zululand
This morning after an early breakfast, check out and depart on your journey to Hluhluwe, driving around the sovereign kingdom of Swaziland. Our journey will take us into the Kingdom of KwaZulu-Natal where ancient traditions and modern cultures of both Zulus and Settlers have combined into a vibrant society living in peace and harmony. Depending on our arrival time, guests might have the option of an optional Safari drive in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve.
Day 6 : World Heritage site and wetlands
This morning we will check and head to St Lucia where you will enjoy a boat cruise on the famous St Lucia estuary. Crocodile and Hippo sightings will be in abundance as well as a multitude of bird life. After our two hour cruise, we will journey to Durban. Upon arrival in Durban we will enjoy a drive through city orientation tour before we check into our local hotel.
Day 7 : Durban - King Shaka
(Flight under own arrangements. We suggest earliest AM flight):
Today you will be transferred from your Durban Hotel to King Shaka International for your onward flight to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth you will be met by a driver for transfer to your local hotel.
Day 8 : Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape
Today our journey continues towards the Cape. Visit the Tsitsikamma Forest, which provides scenic walking opportunities. A short walk to the Storms River Mouth offers some magnificent views of the gorge and river below. Arrive in Knysna late afternoon for check in at our hotel, our base for the next 2 nights.
Day 9 : Oudtshoorn Ostrich ride
After breakfast, we travel inland over the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, known as the 'feather capital of the world' because of its ostrich industry. Visit the famous Cango Caves and an Ostrich Farm where you have the opportunity of riding one of these giant birds. Return to Knysna for overnight.
Day 10 : Cape Town
Today's journey ends in Cape Town. On the way we stop off in Mossel Bay to visit the famous Post Office Tree, the Bartholomeus Diaz Museum and Shell Museum. We drive via Swellendam, Worcester and through the Huguenot Tunnel before arriving in Cape Town in the late afternoon.
Day 11 : Table Mountain and City of Cape Town
This morning your local guide will collect you at +-07h30 for a morning city tour to give you an insight into this magical city. Your tour will include the following points of interest:
Table Mountain - weather permitting and own account.
The Castle - South Africa's oldest building.
The Company Gardens.
A scenic tour past the Parliament Buildings, City Hall and Slave lodge.
The historic Malay Quarter and the colourful Bo-Kaap.
Diamond cutting tour.
Day 12 : Cape Town
This morning you will be collected by your local guide (+-07h30) for a full day Peninsula tour. Tour the spectacular natural beauty of the Cape Peninsula and be inspired by the wild and rugged splendour of 'the two oceans' at Cape Point. You will some of the following point of interest:
'Millionaire's paradise' - Clifton Beach and Camps Bay.
Hout Bay - a working harbour.
Chapman's Peak Drive.
Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
Boulders Beach penguin colony (Optional – Own Account)
'Naval port of Simon's Town and Constantia.
Day 13 : Cape Town
This morning your guide will collect you at +-08h00 as we proceed on a Cape Winelands Tour. Your excursion will take you to the Historical Stellenbosch, with its Cape Dutch architecture in the heart of the beautiful Winelands, surrounded by stunning wine estates. You will enjoy the following:
Winelands scenic drive.
Cellar Tour.
Explore Stellenbosch.
Wine tasting.
Opportunity to buy wine.
Day 14 : End of Tour - Airport Transfer
After check-out you local driver will transfer you to the Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight back home.
