Day 1 : Airport/ Chennai / Mamallapuram

Drive to Mamallapuram on arrival check into hotel.
Later afternoon visit Mamallapuram sightseeing visit the World Heritage Monuments – Five Rathas, Sea Shore Temple, Arjun’s Penance and other group of monument.
Overnight in Mamallapuram.
Day 2 : Mamallapuram

Village tour – A tour that takes you to the heart of rural India. Depart Mamallapuram at 08.30 hrs and we pedal by bi-cycle or drive by Vehicle for a small village of Kadumbadi where in we visit – “The Village school” “farmlands” to see houses and woman at work at the fields, stop at a “coconut groove” for a tender coconut drink at the farm. The tour gives you plenty of photo opportunities such as Plaguing, weeding, buffalos enjoying their plunge in the lake etc. We pedal further to visit “Potters house” for a small demo at their backyard of their house that happens to be their workshop. People interested can try a hand on pot making.

Day 3 : Mamallapuram / Pondicherry

Drive to Pondicherry en-routed sightseeing of Auroville – Information centre and Matir mandir (from Outside).
Further proceed to Pondicherry on arrival check into hotel.
Afternoon sightseeing of Pondicherry visit – Aurobindo Ashram, Manakula vinayakar Temple and busy India market at the Nehru Street.

Day 4 : Pondicherry / Tanjore

Drive to Tanjore en-routed sightseeing of Airavatesvara Temple at Darashuram is Hindu temple of Dravidian architecture.
Further proceed to Tanjore to see Tanjore Bronze Art Gallery and Brihadeshwara Siva Temple – Thanjavur Brihadeeswara temple is one of the most ancient temple, situated in the city of Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, India. Thanjavur named after the legendry asura ”Tanjan”, is one of the ancient temples in India. In ancient days, Thanjavur known as “The rice bowl of Tamil Nadu,” was an important city to the ancient Cholas. It was remade by the Cholas from a collection of villages into a major temple center 1000 years ago, with the construction of the Brihadisvara Temple in the center of the city, and the city then built up around it.

Day 5 : Tanjore / Madurai

Drive to Madurai en-routed lunch (optional) at Karaikudi visit Chettinadu Palace and further proceed to Madurai.
On arrival check into hotel in Madurai.
Madurai: This vast, pulsating city, one of the oldest cities in South India, dating back 2500 years, sprawls along the banks of the River Vaigai. Wander through the fun, packed streets which are full of pilgrims, wandering cows, open-air kitchens and colorful bazaars.
After dinner (Optional) – Visit to the night ceremony at the Meenakshi Amma temple at 8.30 Pm .

Day 6 : Madurai
Morning we take you on a cycle rickshaw tour around Madurai which gives you a memorable experience of this ancient city. You drive through the narrow streets and lanes of Madurai showing the typical life of local people. The cycle rickshaw – the most eco friendly form of transport was fast being phased out, and the hundred and twenty rickshaw pullers of Madurai were deprived of their livelihood, as they were unable to buy the modern forms of transport like the auto rickshaw or taxi. To give these pullers another lease of life we at TRAVELXS created this tour as part of our commitment towards responsible tourism. By taking this tour, you not only support the rickshaw pullers but also encourage the locals to use this eco friendly transport.
Later visit Meenakshi temple – one of the largest temple complexes in South India, the typical example of the Dravidian architecture, the Thirumalai Nayak Palace, a gracious edifice built in the Indo-Saracenic style and Gandhi Museum. You have an option for shopping.
Day 7 : Madurai / Periyar

Drive to Periyar – Periyar Tiger Reserve, Thekkady, is an example of nature’s bounty, with great scenic charm, rich bio diversity and providing veritable visitor satisfaction. Sprawled over an area of 925 Sq .km., Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India.

Proceed to Boat trip in the Periyar Lake there is chance of witnessing wild animal from the boat like Wild elephant, India gaur, Sambar deer, wild dog, water birds and several more…..
Further proceed to guided spice plantation tour in the spice garden – A chance to see spice plantation and method of harvesting and using in India kitchen.

Day 8 : Periyar / Alleppey

Drive to Alleppey, known as the Venice of the East. The one side of town is Sea and other side nature – Agricultural Fields, Villages, etc.; the boat will be taken into ride by 2 boat men for about 20 miles to visit the folks of that region. Fresh cooked food is served with the help of a Cook accompanying the boat. Alappuzha is famous for the boat races held annually in August / September. The ”Chundan Vallams” or Snake boats. Over 30 meters long, with their raised prows are beautifully decorated. As they glide off majestically, their crews of a hundred or more men row in perfect time to the Rhythm of Traditional Boat songs.

Day 9 : Alleppey / Cochin

Disembark house boat drive to Cochin which is often referred to as the spice capital of the world, Cochin’s spice trade can be traced way back to the time of the pharaohs and the pyramids. As you walk the streets of Cochin you can feel the aroma of these spices wafting in the breeze. Check into your hotel, relax for a while.
Later afternoon Proceed to sightseeing of Cochin visit – The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town, St. Francis Church which is the oldest European Church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace, the Spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders.

Day 10 : Cochin / Ooty

Drive to Ooty – Called the Queen of Hill Stations picturesque, green Udhagamandalam better known, as Ooty is the most popular hill station in the South. Located in the Western ghats at a height of 2240m, Udhagamandalam is the headquarters of the Nilgiris district where the two ghats ranges meet. Nature has been generous with this region, which is by far the most beautiful in the state.
En-routed take the Mountain train (toy train or Steam train or Heritage Train) – from Coonoor at 16.25 hrs to Ooty at 17.15 hrs and Enjoy the mountain journey.
On arrival Ooty railway station transfer to Hotel.

Day 11 : Ooty / Mudumalai

Drive to Mudumalai National Park – The Famous Mudumalai wild life Sanctuary is situated at an elevation of 1000 metres and extending over an area of 321 sq.mts lies this sanctuary between Kerala and Karnataka states. This is one of India’s best sanctuaries. Nature has been lavish in providing this sanctuary with thickly wooded hills, plateaus, deep valleys, waterfalls, rivers, marshes and streams. The varied flora and topography meet the ecological requirements of several species inhabitation the sanctuary and give the visitors a sense of satisfaction.

Drive to Mysore – Mysore city is at 770m above sea level Also known as the City of Palaces, Mysore retains a quaint charm that never fails to enchant.
On arrival Check into the hotel. Afternoon proceed for the sightseeing of Mysore visit – Mysore Maharaja Palace, Jaganmohan Palace. Further in the evening visit the Devaraj Market very colorful and lively (typical Indian market).

Drive for a Excursion to Srirangapatna is a town, situated a mere 13 km from Mysore city .The entire town is enclosed by Kaveri to form an island. The town takes its name from the celebrated Ranganathaswamy temple which dominates the town, making Srirangapattana one of the most important Vaishnavite centers of pilgrimage in south India. Srirangapattana became the de facto capital of Mysore under Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Other attractions include the Jumma Masjid (a Mosque) and the Daria Daulat Gardens (Summer Palace).
Further visit – Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary is a small Bird Sanctuary, being only 0.67 km². in area, and comprises six islets on the banks of the Kaveri River. Ranganthittu is located near the historic town of Srirangapatna. The islets came into being when a dam across the Kaveri river was built in the 18th century. The ornithologist Dr. Salim Ali observed that the isles formed an important nesting ground for birds, and persuaded the Wodeyar kings of Mysore to declare the area a wildlife sanctuary in 1940.The islands are host to numerous small mammals, including Bonnet Macaque, colonies of Flying Fox and common small mammals like Common Palm Civet and Indian Gray Mongoose and the monitor lizard. The Mugger Crocodile or Marsh Crocodile is a common inhabitant of the riverine reed beds. Roughly around 180 birds have been observed here till date. Breeding water birds include Painted Stork, Asian Open bill Stork, Common Spoonbill, Woolly-necked Stork, Black-headed Ibis, Black-headed Ibis, Lesser Whistling Duck, Indian Shag, Stork-billed Kingfisher and other common birds like egrets, cormorants, Oriental Darter, and herons. The Great Stone Plover, and River Tern also nest here. The park is home to a large flock of Streak-throated Swallows.
After sightseeing drive back to Mysore En-routed sightseeing of Chamundi Hills temple, Is the best place to observe the sunset and have a great panoramic view of Mysore.

Drive to Hassan en-routed visit Saravanabelagola – The statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali at Śravaṇa Beḷgoḷa is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Jainism, one that reached a peak in architectural and sculptural activity under the patronage of Western Ganga Dynasty of Talakad.
Further drive to visit – Belur and Halebid temple.
After sightseeing proceed to Hassan Hotel followed by check in.
