Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Kapamba Bush Camp, South Luangwa National Park

For most visitors, South Luangwa National Park is by far the most practical park to visit in the valley. This is Zambia’s premier wildlife park, with superb wildlife and many excellent camps. This is where the now famous walking safaris started from over 60 years ago and this unique African destination retains some of the finest world - class safari guides.

There are many contenders for the title of Africa's best game park. The Serengeti, Amboseli, Ngorongoro Crater, Etosha, Kruger, Moremi and Mana Pools would certainly be high on the list. South Luangwa has a better claim than most. Some of these other areas will match its phenomenally high game densities. Many others - the lesser known of Africa's parks - will have equally few visitors. One or two also allow night drives, which open up a different, nocturnal world to view, allowing leopards to be commonly seen and even watched whilst hunting.

However, few have South Luangwa's high quality of guiding together with its remarkable wildlife spectacles, day and night, in the isolation of a true wilderness. These elements, perhaps, are how the contenders ought to be judged, and on these the South Luangwa Park comes out around the top of the list.
The charm and romance of Kapamba is most obvious in its four spacious en - suite chalets. Cool, simple and utterly original, these entirely open - fronted rooms boast wide verandas with river views, twin showers and sunken stone plunge pools - the ultimate in bush indulgence. Clever wrought - iron shutters are drawn each evening so that you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the African night without worrying about unwanted visitors wandering into your room whilst you sleep. Two of the chalets have twin beds (queen - sized beds), while the other two each have a king bed. Kapamba is one of only two Bushcamp in the park to stay open from April until January - the other
Get out into the bush and explore the rich diversity of the surrounding area on a morning walking safari, and then later in the day, jump into a Land Rover for an afternoon/evening game drive. On special occasions we can also arrange an afternoon wading through the cool waters of the Kapamba where a scenic sundowner or special meal will be waiting for you.
When the weather is right, you can spend siesta time in the Kapamba River right in front of camp!

Details about Kapamba Bush Camp inside the South Luangwa
A remote and romantic camp situated in a prime location on the Kapamba River, and one of only two Bushcamps to be open from April to January - the other being Zungulila.
In a remote corner of the South Luangwa National Park lies Kapamba, a camp that combines the isolation and superb game - viewing opportunities of a true bushcamp with a touch of... dare we say it... luxury.
Set on the banks of the shallow, spring - fed eponymous river, Kapamba is surrounded by some of the park's richest wildlife. Watching an elephant take a dip in the river can be quite an experience when you're lounging in your own private plunge pool. The central bar and dining room is positioned under a huddle of matumi and sausage trees, with a wide deck that stretches out with views of the Kapamba River. And if that's still not close enough for you, why not enjoy your G&T from the middle of the river itself, your feet dipped in the cool, crystal shallows.

    Your stay at Kapamba Bush Camp will include the following;
Transfer from Mfuwe to Kapamba Bush Camp
2 nights’ Accommodation in airconditioned en - suite Chalets
All Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner daily)
Day & Night game drives in the company of experienced and knowledge safari guides
Walking safaris led by experienced walking guides and escort scouts
    Park & Conservation Fees
Transfer from Kapamba Bush Camp to Chindeni Bush Camp

Robert and his team put together and amazing itinerary and competitive package for my trip to South Luangwa national park. I enjoyed working with this company and appreciated their service offerings. I would use them again if I travel to Zambia.

Great Service! I had a last-minute trip planned and executed very well. I had a great time and would work with them again.

The choice Absolute Zambia Safaris has been the result of a selection I made among dozens of local tour operators whom I asked for a quotation initially for a package covering the entire stay (about 12 days) in Zambia and then limiting to some transfers and 3 days in South Luangwa National Park Robert was the winner in this selection that covered three aspects: price, quality of service and kindness. It was the perfect choice. Robert in this trip in Zambia has never left me alone providing a service of the highest quality.
