Package Overview

Madurai:- Madurai is one of the oldest cities of India, with a history dating all the way back to the Sangam period of the pre Christian era. The glory of Madurai returned in a diminished form in the earlier part of this millennium; it later on came under the rule of the Vijayanagar kingdom after its ransack by the ravaging armies of Delhi (Malik Kafur). During the 16th and 18th centuries, Madurai was ruled by the Nayak Emperors, the foremost of whom was Tirumalai Nayakar. The Sangam period poet Nakkeerar is associated with some of the Tiruvilayaadal episodes of Sundareswarar - that are enacted as a part of temple festival traditions even today.

Rameswaram:-This is the city, which derives its name from the fact that Lord Rama created a linga here to offer his prayers. The magnificent temple housing the linga looms before you, as you take the customary dip in the Agniteertham. Step around the massive Nandi Bull, whose size seems to be just perfect considering the dimensions of the temple. And of course, you mustn't miss out on the ritual bath at the 22 temple tanks within the complex. Rameshwaram is also said to be the link to Sri Lanka, and the boulders in the sea to Sri Lanka were believed to have been used by hanuman to cross over. The sea is clear and calm and village-like set-ups define the coast. You can visit Rameshwaram in a day, but once here, you must visit the sacred Dhanishkodi and the holy Kothandaramaswamy Temple there. That is possibly the only chance to discover what feats devotion attains.

Kanyakumari:- - The name of this place has been christened after the virgin goddess - Kanyakumari Amman. Mythological stories depict that Goddess parvati under the disguise of Devi Kanniya did a penance in one of the rocks in this area to reach the hand of Lord Shiva. This place is also a popular pilgrimage. The tourists who visit this southern most tip of India would certainly enjoy the exuberant scenes of the sunsets, the sunrises especially on full moon days. The nature of the sand in the beaches of Kanyakumari is unique as it is multicolored.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival - Madurai

  Arrive Madurai airport or railway station and transfer to the hotel.Popularly known as the city of nectar,it is the largest cultivator and exporter of Jasmine flowers. On arrival, check in at the booked hotel and relax. Later, join us for the tour of thee fascinating Meenakshi Amman temple.Visit to one of the most awe-evoking temples that is the temple of the triple breasted warrior goddess Meenakshi. Every evening around 9 pm, incense enshrouded, frenzied procession carries the idol of Lord Shiva or Sundareswarar to the Meenakshi Temple’s shrine and visitors are welcomed inside. The temple houses the Art Museum in a thousand pillared hall located on the right side of the entrance. The word Madurai is derived from the word Madhura or sweetness, and is popularly believed that this nectar is showered from the matted hair of Lord Shiva. Proceed for local tour of Madurai.   • Hotspots Meenakshi Temple
• Day 2 : Madurai - Rameshwaram (175 Km, 03 Hour Drive)

  After the breakfast, check out from your hotel and then drive to Rameshwaram. Upon arrival, check-in into the hotel at Rameshwaram. After freshening up, join us for sightseeing of this holy city, which is considered as one of the char Dhams, abodes or seeats (Pilgrimage sites). Visit Dhanushkodi Beach, Pamban bridge, Ramanathaswamy Temple, Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam House & other sightseeing. Overnight stay;
• Day 3 : Rameshwaram - Kanyakumari (250 Km., 06 Hour Drive)

  After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, drive to Kanyakumari and on arrival check into the hotel at Kanyakumari. Join us for sightseeing in the afternoon Kanyakumari Temple, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Thiruvalluvar Statue. Evening Sunset. Overnight stay;

• Day 4 : Kanyakumari to Madurai (245 Kms)

  Morning go for Sun rise & breakfast at hotel. Check out hotel & transfer to Madurai. Arrive & proceed for shopping. Later drop @ Madurai Airport/Railway station;
