Day 1 : Arrival Nairobi
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will be met as you disembark off the flight by your friendly local representative, assisted through immigrations and custom procedures and after collecting your luggage, you will be transferred to Nairobi Serena Hotel / Panafric Hotel. Rest of the day is spent at leisure for optional activities available at the hotel. Overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel / Panafric Hotel.
Day 2 : Nairobi/Amboseli 260kms / 5hours
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning drive to the Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge / Amboseli Serena Lodge. The Park is famous for its breath-taking views of Kilimanjaro. The Park also shelters more than 420 species of birds. Enormous Elephant population and other big game are attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 3 : Explore Amboseli
Morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National park. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge/Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for a morning game drive. The Park is known for its felines: Lion, Leopard and Cheetah as well as serval and civet cats. Herds of graceful Impala thrive on the short grass in the woodlands, along with the black-faced vervet monkey and Olive Baboon. Hippos live in the open waters and swamp channels and Buffalo feed on the shoreline. This is the place to encounter large numbers of Elephants, observing their complex greeting rituals and the way all the adult females protect and instruct the young. The Amboseli Elephant population is one of the few in Africa that has not been ravaged by poachers.
Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with wild animals are known across the world.
Day 4 : Amboseli / Nairobi / Tree Hotel 430kms / 7hours
Breakfast at the Lodge. Morning drive to Nairobi for lunch at an Indian Restaurant. After lunch continue drive to Nyeri, a small but fast growing town in the heart of the coffee growing and dairy farming area in the so-called former White Highlands of Kenya. The tour leaves for a tree hotel where the evening is spent watching succession of animals that emerge from the forest and descend on floodlit water hole and salt lick, scuffling and jostling for a good vantage position. At night if you want to remain awake and watch the show-the Elephants may engage in a show of strength with each other but even they would be reluctant to challenge the rhino. The herbivores keep their distance from these two competitors. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge or Treetops Lodge - a Tree hotel
Day 5 : Lake Nakuru National Park 215kms / 4hours
After breakfast drive via Nyahururu (Thompson's Falls) at an altitude of 7,738 feet. The falls are named after the Scots explorer Joseph Thompson who was the first European to discover the falls in 1884. Then comes the descent into the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National park for lunch at one of the hotels. An afternoon drive in the park to enjoy the sight of pelicans bathing in the fresh water streams which terminate in Lake Nakuru. Since there is no existing drainage, Lake Nakuru is alkaline, the perfect place for flamingos to feed on the blue-green algae. The greater flamingo attains a height of about 4.26 feet, its plumage is almost white with a pale pink, black tipped beak. It is the lesser flamingo that has the more exotic color. About 2.72 ft. in height, with a rosy plumage and dark red, black tipped beak. Lake Nakuru National Park has a great variety of bird life which includes the Egyptian goose and a variety of ducks that come from Europe to winter. This park is truly a bird watchers paradise. The game animals include hippo, waterbuck, gazelles, colobus monkeys, buffalo, leopard and the Rothschild giraffe. The park is also a sanctuary for the white rhino. This park has an abundance of acacia trees, both yellow barked (fever tree) the umbrella-topped acacia and the candelabra cactus. All meals and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or Lake Nakuru Lodge in Nakuru.
Day 6 : Masai Mara Game Reserve 310kms / 5hours
After an American breakfast, proceed to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving at your camp on time for lunch. Afternoon brief rest before embarking on a game drive.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe; over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, Crocodiles, Giraffe, Wildebeests, Zebras, Buffalo, Warthogs, Hyenas, and Jackals, Wild dogs, Buffalo, Leopard and a variety of antelopes. It is in the Mara that the most spectacular event of the natural wonders of the world takes place. Behind their heels are predators of the savanna- Lion, Cheetah, and Wild dog, Jackal, Hyena and Vultures. This evening, enjoy a sumptuous dinner at your camp. Overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 7 : Masai Mara Game Reserve
You spend two full days in the Masai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives. Between the game drive OPTIONAL VISIT to local Masai Village is conducted. The trees in the distance might turn out to be a family of Giraffes. Those clump of bushes a pride of Lions, and the rock that moves a Rhino lumbering out of your way. With diligence and some luck, you may encounter a family of Cheetahs, or a herd of Elephants crossing the path in front of you. Large animals are not the only entertainment - a family of warthogs may amuse you, running as fast as their little legs will carry them, until they forget why they are rushing and stop to regroup. All meals and overnight at Overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 8 : Masai Mara / Nairobi 250kms / 4hours
After breakfast return to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Rest of the day is spent at leisure for optional activities. Thereafter transfer to Jomo Kenyatta airport for your International departure flight back home.
