Experience a tailor made tour of Speyside, in the heart of Scotland’s world famous Whiskey trail, home to over half of all the malt Whisky distilleries in Scotland. Sit back and let us do all the driving whilst you visit some the finest malt distilleries including Macallan, Glenfiddoch The Balvenie, Glenlivet and many more. You shall also have the added bonus of experiencing historic castles combined with some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in Scotland, including Perthshire, Speyside and the Cairngorm National Park.

Day 1 : Edinburgh
Departing your accommodation in Edinburgh, 9:00 am we journey to the Kingdom of Fife to view the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, before heading to the historic village of Dunkeld, to explore it’s magnificent 13th-century Cathedral. It’s then onto Edradour, one of the smallest and most picturesque distilleries in Scotland for an in-depth tour and a wee dram of Edradour’s finest malts. After your behind the scenes tour of Edradour, we can then stop for lunch at the excellent 17th century Moulin Hotel, a former coaching inn serving traditional locally sourced food including wild haggis. After lunch, our journey takes us through the spectacular ” Pass of Glenshee” Gaelic for “glen of the fairies” to Royal Deeside, and a visit to Royal Lochnagar distillery for a 1-hour tour and a wee dram of Lochnagar’s award-winning 12 yr old single malt whiskey. It’s then onto the pretty village of Ballater for the evening.
Please note – This tour can also begin from Glasgow, and would include a visit to Stirling Castle, before travelling to Dunkeld.
Day 2 : Leisurely Drive
Your day begins with a leisurely drive through the spectacular Cairngorms National Park, to the pretty village of Tomintoul, said to be the highest village in the Scottish Highlands. Here you can visit the world-renowned Whisky Castle shop offering an extensive display of over 500 whiskies including some of the rarest and highest quality malts. Continuing on we then visit The Glenlivet Distillery for a complimentary 45 min tour and a wee dram of Glenlivet single malt whiskey. From here we then travel to Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside for a light lunch before heading to the Balvenie Distillery (2 pm) for a three hour in-depth tour beginning with a coffee and chat before a tour of the malt barns, floors Kilns & cooperage ending in a nosing and tasting of four very different malts from first-fill and refill-fill casks. Leaving Balvenie we will spend the next two evenings on Speyside.
Day 3 : Oldest operating distillery
We start the day with a visit to the oldest operating distillery in the highlands – Stathisla, which has been making whiskey first hand since 1786. From here we then travel north to visit Johnstons cashmere woollen mill then onto the magnificent 13th century Elgin Cathedral. After lunch in the picturesque town of Elgin, we then travel to Benromach Distillery where you will uncover the secrets behind creating Benromach’s beautiful malts. Leaving Benromach and if time permits we can visit Dallas Dhu Distillery before making our way back to your accommodation on Speyside.
Day 4 : Travel south
Today we leave Speyside and travel south. Firstly we head to the pretty village of Carrbridge to view its most famous landmark the Packhorse Bridge built in 1717 and the oldest stone bridge in the highlands. We then join the A9 south to Dalwhinnie Distillery, the highest distillery in Scotland for a tasting of four classic single malts complemented with specially selected handmade chocolates. From here we head to Perthshire, where you have the option of visiting the impressive 13th century Blair Atholl Castle or enjoy a tour of Blair Atholl Distillery at Pitlochry. We would then drive to the Hermitage woodland walk to view the spectacular waterfall. Then travel back to your accommodation in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
