Package Overview

Spiti valley is a cold desert mountain valley which is famous for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Tabo monastery is one of the most prominent attractions in Spiti. The monasteries in Spiti are renowned for spectacular murals, ancient temples, and several stupas. Spiti Valley is also known as the Cold Desert because of its high altitude. It's one of the highest inhabited regions in the world, with an altitude of 4,270 meters above sea level. Spiti is often referred to as Little Tibet because its terrain, vegetation and climate are very similar to that of Tibet and is surrounded by Lahaul, Ladakh, Kinnaur and Kullu.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Day 1: Shimla - Narkanda - Rampur Bsr. - Sangla( 220 Kms/ 6 - 7 Hrs.)

  Upon arrival at the Shimla, you will be received by our representatives who will transfer you to Sangla. Enroute you can explore the beautiful hill spots of Kufri & Narkanda. Continue driving to Sangla Via Rampur Bushahr where you can stop for lunch which is situated on the river bank of Satluj. After Lunch you will be transferred to Sangla, crossing a picturesque view of Taranda Dhank. On arrival, complete your check into the hotel and later you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages ( 1-2 hrs) and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monastery .You will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local people in these valleys. By evening come back to hotel/homestay for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay

• Day 2 : Day 02: Sangla to Kalpa with Rakcham and ChitKul

  Wake up early in the morning followed by a healthy breakfast! On the second day, get ready to drive to see the last Indian village Chitkul. Chitkul is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border. It's a green, lush, tiny, beautiful and remote village. It's a visual treat for the nature lover in you. You can get up early today and go for a nature walk. After a lazy breakfast, we check out around 11AM and leave for Kalpa. Enroute we visit Karcham Dam, Kamru fort & Temple – dedicated to the Goddess Kamakhya Devi. Later you enter Reckong Peo – the headquarters of Kinnaur district.. On arrival at Kalpa Checkin to hotel and in evening go to see Roghi village and suicide point. Overnight stay will be in Kalpa.

• Day 3 : Day 03: Kalpa - Nako - Gue - Tabo to Tabo (180 kms / 07 hrs.)

  After breakfast, proceed towards Tabo. On the way visit the natural scenery of Nako Lake. Nako Lake is one of the popular tourist attractions in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh . Then Proceed to visit Mummy Gue Village i.e. almost on the Indo-China border. Gue is known for the mummy of a Lama which is thousands of years old. An earthquake in northern India once opened the old tomb containing the mummified body of a monk. The locals say that they gather once a year at this temple when the local lama cuts the nails and hairs of the mummy).
  Then proceed to Tabo ,where you visit a Tabo monastery that's older than 1000 yrs. It is made of mud and wood and has wall paintings. Tabo Monastery is not only the oldest monastery but the most beautiful monastery. Adjoining this old monastery, you will see the newer version of this monastery that is modern and huge. Check in to your homestay/ hotel for a leisurely evening.

• Day 4 : Day 04: Tabo -Dhankar - Pin valley - Kaza (134 Kms./6 - 7 hrs.)

  We will start day four with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, after which we will go to visit Dhankar Monastery. Dhankar Gompa is a village and also a Gompa, a Buddhist temple in the district of Lahaul and Spiti in India. It is situated at an elevation of 3,894 meters in the Spiti Valley above Dhankar Village, between the towns of Kaza and Tabo. Continue your driving towards Kaza, crossing a picturesque view of Pin Valley till Mud village and on the way you’ll be covering Kungri Monastery. On arrival in Kaza complete your check in formalities and explore the Kaza Monastery & visit the market to explore local gems. Your overnight stay will be in a hotel/homestay in Kaza.

• Day 5 : Day 05: Kaza - Langza - Komic - Hikkim - Key - Chicham - Kibber - Losar (104 Kms/ 06 - 07 Hrs.)

  After breakfast, proceed for a day trip to popular places in Kaza. We first head towards Langza village-popular for Fossils and then we visit Komic village - the highest village in the world at 4600 meters connected by a motorable road, then we head to Hikkim village - known for having the highest Post Office in the world. You might like to bring a few postcards with you to post them to your loved ones as a souvenir. Later we proceeded to Key Monastery. It is over 1000-year-old, located at a height of 13,668 ft above sea level and you get to see some glorious views of the valley from here. From here we go to Kibber village which is known for its wildlife sanctuary. From Kibber we will connect to Chicham village. Chicham Bridge is said to be the world's highest suspension bridge and is one of the most spectacular bridges of the world. The bridge is situated across a deep gorge around 1000 feet in height. For overnight stay you will be transferred to Losar Village.

• Day 6 : Day 06: Losar - Kunzum - Chandratal - Koksar - Atal tunnel- Manali- (151 Kms/ 8 Hrs.)

  Begin your penultimate morning with a healthy breakfast, and proceed for your transfer to Manali. Enroute you will be visiting & passing through the high altitude pass of Kunzum La. Stop by at the stupa and pay tribute to the local goddess, “Kuzum Mata '' as she's known. At 15,000 feet above sea-level, the Kunzum Pass connects Kullu and Lahaul to the Spiti Valley. From there, we head to Chandratal Lake – A visual marvel, this stunning blue-coloured lake is set at an altitude of 4,300 meters above sea level in the heart of high Himalayas and is a must see on a full moon night. It derives its name, “Chandra” (Moon) and “Taal” (Lake) from the crescent shape of the lake. Continue your driving towards Jispa . Enroute you will be covering the stunning beauty of Koksar valley & newly built Atal tunnel. Your drop off location will be Manali.
