Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Paro

  After arrival at Paro International Airport from your onward flight from Kolkata, the representative will receive you and drive to hotel for check-in. After Lunch visit Rinpung Dzong which houses the monastic school and the office of the civil administration and Ta Dzong which is the museum which holds old fascinating collections of art, relic and religious things. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 2 : Paro-Thimphu

  After early breakfast drive towards north and visit Drugyal Dzong built in 1646 (a ruined fortress) by Zhabdrung Ngwang Namgyel. Drive to Taksang road point hike up to a monastery called Taktsang. Literally meaning the Tiger’s Nest the monastery clings on to a granite cliff 900m above Paro valley. Late afternoon visit Kyichu Lhakhang (Monastery). Kyichu Lhakhang was built in 659 AD by the King Songtsen Gampo of Tibet as one of the 108 such Monasteries which he built in various places to spread Buddhism. Drive to thimphu. Over night at hotel.

• Day 3 : Thimphu-Wangdi

  After breakfast drive to Punakha (3 hours drive from Thimphu) at 9am en route for tea at Dochula (3100 meters) where on a clear day you can get a spectacular view of the Himalayas. Drive to Chimmi Lhagang which was built in 15 Century (dedicated to Lama Dukpa Kinley also known as divine mad man). It is a pilgrim site especially for childless couple. After lunch drive to Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong-built in 1637 by Zhabdrung is one of the most beautiful dzong in Bhutan. After visiting the Punakha Dzong we will drive to Wangdiphodrang. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 4 : Wangdi-Bumthang

  After early breakfast we drive to Bumthang. Lunch at Tongsa. After lunch drive to Bumthang via Yotongla Pass and Kilakha Pass. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 5 : Bumthang

  After breakfast, visit Jakar Dzong, Chakhar (Iron Castle) Lhakhang, visit Kurjey Lhakhang that is named after body print of Guru Rimpoche. Visit Tamshing Lhakhang (Temple of the good message). In the evening, visit Membarstho which literally means, “The burning Lake”. We can also go and visit the Bhutanese carpet Factory where yak, Sheep wool and pure silk is used to weave carpets and Bhutanese textiles. Overnight in hotel.

• Day 6 : Bumthang-Phobjikha

  After Early breakfast drive to Phobjikha on the way visit Trongsa Dzong, one of the most impressive dzongs in Bhutan, built in its present form in 1644 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa and Ta Dzong also known as watch tower. Now been renovated and transformed into a museum. After lunch continue drive to Phobjikha. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 7 : Phobjikha-Thimphu

  After breakfast drive to Thimphu on the way journey to Wangdiphodrang where we will visit the Wangdiphodrang Dzong built in 1638, continue drive to Thimphu. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 8 : Thimphu

  after breakfast visit Memorial Chorten. It was built in the year 1974 for memory of our Third King of Bhutan, His Majesty King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Buddha Point/ Kuensel Phodang. Is the largest Bhddha statue in the country, from there you can get a good over view of the Thimphu valley. Changangkha lhakang- it is right above Thimphu Valley, this temple and monastic school was established in the 12th century on a site chosen by Lama Phajo Drugom Zhipo and Mini zoo. After lunch visit Tashichhodzong-Bhutan’s administrative and religious centre. Office of His Majesty the king. Visit national Folk Heritage Museum, National Library and Stroll around the town for some shopping

• Day 9 : Thimphu-Paro

  After breakfast, drive to Paro international airport for your onward flight to Delhi.
