Kanchendzonga, the third largest mountain in the world, is sacred to the Sikkimese. Located on the foothills of the holy mountain, Sikkim is surrounded by green blankets of the neighbouring countries like Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : ARRIVE BAGDOGRA ONTO KALIMPONG(79KMS/APPROX 3 HRS DRIVE)

  Welcome to 'Splendours of the East - Deluxe -Summer ' tour. On arrival at the airport in Bagdogra/railway station in New Jalpaiguri, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kalimpong. The rest of the evening is at leisure.
  Overnight in Kalimpong (Dinner)

• Day 2 : ONTO GANGTOK(85KMS/APPROX 3HRS DRIVE)

  This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kalimpong including Zong Dong Palri Fo-Brang Monastery and Pine View Nursery.Zong Dong Palri Fo-Brang Monastery is also known as the Durpin Monastery. It has been constructed by The Dalai Lama in Durpin Dara and hence the name Durpin Dara Monastery. The monastery is situated at a height of 1370 m on top of the Durpin hill.
  The Pine View Nursery has great collections of cactus and ornamental plants. These collections have been collected from North, South and Central America. Later in the afternoon, proceed on a picturesque drive to Gangtok where on arrival, you will check-in to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

• Day 3 : IN GANGTOK

  This morning, proceed on a city tour visiting Do Drul Chorten. Built by the revered Trulshi Rimpoche, who served as the head of the Nyingma order of the Tibetan Buddhism, the chorten, is a Buddhist shrine, typically a saint's tomb or a monument to the Buddha. Inside the stupa, there are complete mandala sets of Dorjee Phurba (Bajra Kilaya), a set of Kan-gyur relics (Holy Books), complete 'Zung'(mantras) and other religious objects. Around this Chorten, are 10 Mani-Lhakor (prayer wheels).
  Also visit Rumtek monastery. Built by Rangjung Doje the 16th Karampa Lama in 1959 after he fled Tibet, the Rumtek Monastery functioned as his home in exile. The flowing streams of water, Snow capped mountains, the proximity of the river and the silence of the valley give the monastery a tranquil and peaceful environment. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore and enjoy the Traditional Music Show and Cultural activities.

• Day 4 : IN GANGTOK

  This morning, proceed on a picturesque drive to Pemayangtse (Pelling ). On arrival, check-in to your hotel.

• Day 6 : PELLING

  Today proceed on a half day sightseeing tour of Pelling, visiting Pemayangtse Monastery,Rimbi Falls, Kanchenjunga Falls and Khecheopalri - the wishing lake. A Buddhists Monastery in Sikkim, the Pemayangtse Monastery was established in 1705 by Lama Lhatsun. This is the oldest and the most prestigious monastery in Sikkim. The Rimbi Waterfalls is a picturesque picnic and tourist spot located about 17 km from Pelling. The Rimbi Waterfalls lies in close proximity to one of Sikkim's oldest hydro power stations and the Sewaro Rock Garden.
  The Kanchenjunga falls are famous for their beauty and fierceness. These falls are rare in west Sikkim and are truly a wondrous natural discovery. Khecheopalri Lake, located at a height of 1950m, is believed to be in the shape of the footprint of goddess Tara. This natural reservoir is a sacred lake to the Buddhists. The rest of the day is at leisure.

• Day 7 : ONTO DARJEELING(75KMS/2.5HRS DRIVE)

  This morning, you will visit the Pemayangtse Monastery established in 1705 by Lama Lhatsun. It's the oldest and the most prestigious monastery in Sikkim. Later, drive to the Victorian hill station of Darjeeling. On arrival, you will check-in to your hotel.
  The rest of the day is at leisure for shopping or exploring the hill station.

• Day 8 : DARJEELING

  Early morning, proceed to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM). Tiger Hill is synonymous with an amazing view of the sunrise. On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery locally known as Yogachoeling Gompa and Batasia Loop - a gigantic loop through which the Toy Train makes a 360 degree turn.
  After breakfast, proceed on a half-day sightseeing tour of Darjeeling, visiting places like the Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday) and Tea Estate (panoramic view). The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the local markets.
