Day 1 : From Colombo to Kandy via Pinnawala
Upon arrival in Colombo, head to Kandy. En route, you can visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist attractions. With a population of around 65 elephants, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage has world’s largest collection of captive elephants. After the visit, proceed to Kandy. Enjoy your overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy.
Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kandy
After the breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Kandy, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city is about 480 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, Royal Botanical Gardens, and the Peradeniya University campus. Also, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kandy from Upper Lake Drive. You can go on shopping spree in Kandy as the city is known for its gems and jewellery, handicrafts, batiks, silks, etc. In the early evening, watch a Kandyan Dance performance and treat yourself to a spectacular fire walking finale. Day 3 : From Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After savouring the breakfast at the hotel, head to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy. En route, you can visit a tea factory and estate. Nuwara Eliya, meaning “the city of dawn”, is a town located at the highest elevation (about 2000 meters above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Pidurutalagala (2555 meters) could be seen from here. Enjoy the cool climate and quaint colonial feel of Nuwara Eliya with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows. Also, you can visit a plantation and a factory and witness how the famous “Ceylon Tea” is brewed. Stay overnight at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 4 : From Nuwara Eliya to Colombo
After an early breakfast, begin your trip to Colombo. On your way to Colombo, behold the beauty of St. Clairs Falls and Devon Falls. Also, en route, visit the location where the Oscar winning movie The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. In the evening, enjoy a city tour of Colombo and shop some exquisite items. Colombo is the largest city and former administrative capital of Sri Lanka and is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and remnants of a bygone colonial era. On this tour, visit the historical, religious and commercial sites of Colombo. Pay a visit to the historic and bustling Fort and Pettah, the elite residential Cinnamon Gardens, the Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park and much more. Stay overnight at a hotel in Colombo.
Day 5 : Departure
Enjoy the breakfast at the hotel in Colombo and head to the airport for your departure.
