take the Road Less Traveled On this Ladakh Trek, You Will Get a Glimpse of a the Beautiful Landscape as You Trek to Stok Kangri Peak. this Ladakh Trek also Offers a Chance to Trek Past the Stok La Pass.
Leave the guest house after breakfast for Spituk 7km. Visit Gelugpa sect picturesque monastery built on a hill top by Lama Od–lde in the 11th century. After that we drive to the trek start point. After loading the luggage, start your first day trek with a gentle trek over the vast open terrain. Follow the clear path and continue the easy and gentle trek keeping Indus River on right. As you come across the valley on the left, leave Indus behind and enter the valley. Continue trekking along the upstream small river as far as Zingchen (small village). Spend the afternoon exploring the village and in the evening visit local houses. Stay the night at camp (3380m)
Leave camp after breakfast; continue the journey on the path that leads away from the river. Climb gently till we reach Rumbak village. Pass Rumbak then continue with an ascent up through the barren lunar landscape of Ladakh. The weather is hot during the day and cold at night. Stay the night at camp. (4100m)
After breakfast, continue the trek with a gradual ascent to Stokla pass. From the campsite walk up towards the east and then on your right you find a path zigzagging up the mountain. At first it looks quite steep, later cross over the cleft to the left and head up east at a less troubling gradient as far as the top of the pass. From the top, enjoy and capture awesome and spectacular views of the snow leopard kingdom on your right hand side, imposing Indus valley and enormous huge towering mountains of great Himalaya. Cross the pass, easy and gentle descent down as far as Mankarmo. Stay the night at camp. (4700m)
After an early breakfast, continue the trek with a gradual ascent to reach the base camp. Arrive at campsite before Lunch. Post Lunch take a short climb from base camp to get better acclimatized. Climb a further 100 m and then come back down again to get an early night in preparation for tomorrow’s summit attempt. Stay the night at camp (Approx. 4900m)
Early in the morning, start the attempt at challenging the summit with a gradual climb to avail the best weather conditions and possibly the sunrise at the summit. First, climb onto a ridge which leads to a large glacier. After crossing the glacier, ascend steeply to the summit. This last leg is the most difficult and takes a lot of physical and mental strength. The panoramic view from the summit is second to none. To the north–west the Karakoram Range, including K2 (8611 m), seems endless. One can also see the Zanskar Range and view of Tibet in the distance, an outstanding vista of snow–capped peaks. Stay the night at base camp.
Spare Summit Day stay the night at base camp.
After an early breakfast we check out from the hotel to catch our flight back home.
