Package Overview

All our itinerary component is flexible and can be modified to suit your interest and preference. Our standard is usually using 3 star hotel with standard AC transportation, but if you wish to have higher standard of accommodation and transportation, we are more than happy to provide the suggestion except in some remote area where only available standard transportation and non star hotel for example in Borneo, and Papua

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : ARRIVAL SUMBA - PRAILIU - MAULIRU VILLAGE

  Upon your arrival on the island of Sumba at the city of Waingapu, your guide will pick you up at the airport and after meet and greet, you will directly transfer to your hotel Elvin for check in and lunch at local restaurant, afternoon visit Prailiu and Mau liru village to see ikat process, return to hotel for dinner and overnight

• Day 2 : WAINGAPU - PAU - RENDE AND KALIUDA

  After breakfast at hotel, we travel from Waingapu along the coast to the town of Pau, well known for the Lau Pahikung ikats and onto Rende village with its unique ikat weaving. We spend the night in Kaliuda village or we stay at Kalala beach Resort.

• Day 3 : KALIUDA FULLDAY IKAT LEARNING

  We spend the day learning about the ikat designs of Kaliuda with their unique horse and bird designs unlike any other textiles on Sumba.

• Day 4 : KALIUDA - KANATANG - WAINGAPU

  We leave Kaliuda village today and travel to the indigo dyeing village of Kanatang at Mau Dolung Village, where we learn about their unique natural dyes process, In the afternoon we will return to hotel Elvin for dinner and overnight.

• Day 5 : PRAILIANG - WUNGA VILLAGE

  After breakfast at hotel, tour will be heading to North of Sumba to visit: Prai liang and Wunga traditional village on top of the hill overlooking the valley and the river, this 2 village is a rare village where the people still keep the traditional style of living, then proceed to Puru kambera beach for swimming and snorkling and lunch here, afternoon return to Hotel.

• Day 6 : WAINGAPU - WAIKABUBAK

  Today we will drive for about 137 km or about 4 hours to Waikabubak (the west side of Sumba). We will stop en-route at KAMPUNG PASUNGA to see the greatest stone grave and the traditional houses of west sumbanese . Proceed to Waikabubak city as the capital city of West Sumba for check in and Lunch at ( Manandang hotel or similar). Afternoon we continue the city tour by visiting to Prai Ijing , KAMPUNG TARUNG and WAITABAR which will see the traditional houses which are decorated by huge horn of Buffaloes in front .WULLA PODDU ceremonial take place in these village on every November. Wulla Poddu is the Merapu New Years by LAULINESE and as the thanks giving worship for the falling of rain for the coming planting season. Late afternoon drive back to Hotel with a stop at ALGADRI art shop where many collections of Sumbanese antiques are sold. Arrive at hotel, dinner and overnight at Hotel.

• Day 7 : WAIKABUBAK - WANUKAKA - LAMBOYA

  After breakfast at hotel tour start to visit Wanukaka and Lamboya district, the winding drive south takes in wonderful scenery: sloping hills, rice fields, river valleys, palm plantations, and around every bend, magnificent sweeping bays. At this place, all traditional houses on top of the hill and Grave Stone in front of it, with a very fantastic scenery of rice field and the Indian ocean. Lunch box will prepare on the beach and will have some times to relax, in the afternoon drive back to the city of Waikabubak for overnight and dinner at Manandang hotel or similar.

• Day 8 : WAIKABUBAK - TAMBOLAKA AIRPORT

  At the appropriate time we will transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Denpasar.
