Himalayan Art & Adventure Camp 2022 - Laka Glacier

Dharamshala, a beautiful city located between the snow covered mountains! The great Himalayan Dhauladhar range begins here. As it is easily accessible, this beginner to moderate level trek is one of the most beautiful treks.

Laka Glacier lies gracefully in the laps of Kangra Valley and enveloped in the mighty Dhauladhar ranges making it a mesmerising trek to indulge in. Its the lowest altitude glacier in India.

We have crafted this much needed getaway, combining Art and Adventure, to satisfy your travel soul, wandering mind and get that much needed break with everything at once!

This trek will push your physical and Mental limits and leave you refreshed with mesmerising memories. Our base camp is located by the beautiful River bank of Bhagsu

Things to carry

Pair of Jeans, Track Pants, T-shirts (Full sleeves recommended), Warm clothing (jacket, cap, gloves, etc), extra pair of socks, sunglasses (its bright!) bed sheet or shawl.
Don't carry much luggage but don't forget the essentials.
Your toiletries, Sunblock creams, hand sanitiser, Sanitary pads (for females), Face mask,
Water bottle, Torch, power bank if necessary and a camera if you like.
Please carry your personal Medicines in case of any allergies and inform us so we can be prepared too.

Advisory:

While on trek personal luggage has to be carried on your own
The management reserves all the rights to modify the trek during cases of emergencies or
calamities
Trekkers must abide by the instructions of the Trek leaders and follow the rules.
In case of any No show or changes in the trek due to extreme climatic conditions the package will not qualify for any refund policy
Indemnity to be signed and the ownership rules are liable for the participant and personal equipment which each participant carries , responsibility lies with the participant

Physical preparation
I would suggest you to prepare yourself physically for at least a week or two before the trek to make it an easy experience and to avoid pains/sprains. You can begin your basic strength and endurance training like walking everyday, short runs if possible, squats, lunges and push ups and planks
Personally, Yoga helps me a lot, in case you prefer that you can try doing some Surya namasakaras post your walk/ run

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Checkin at hotel, freshen up, have breakfast and move to base camp, spend the afternoon and evening sight seeing, post dinner we spend the night in tents.

  • Themes Camping
• Day 2 : Dharamshala

  Early to bed and early to rise, wake up - acclimatisation walk, short yoga session, breakfast and we pack our day 2 with fun activities and possibly a short hike (river crossing, rock climbing, rappelling, learn basics of all)

  • Themes Rock Climbing
• Day 3 : Dharamshala Sightseeing

  The journey to snowline begins. Post breakfast we begin our trek to Leta (Camp1) reach by lunch time, relax, evening village walk where we enjoy a beautiful sunset, sketch/paint/ dismiss

  • Themes Trekking
• Day 4 : Trek to Triund (2850 m)

  Rreach by lunch time, enjoy a beautiful guided painting session by our artist, rest

  • Themes Trekking
• Day 5 : Dharamshala

  Trek to Laka glacier, set up camp3, bonfire, rest. get ready to rejuvenate and wake up to one of the most beautiful mornings

  • Themes Trekking
• Day 6 : Dharamshala Sightseeing

  A long descend back to Bhagsu, Evening craft session where we learn and make dreamcatchers, a beautiful memory to take home. Music, bonfire and what not

  • Themes Camping
• Day 7 : Departure

  Most awaited for many - Dalai lama temple visit, shopping, and catch that evening bus to Delhi. Adios.

Exclusions

• The Trek fees for Delhi-Dharamshal-Delhi is INR 23,000.
• An Advance amount of INR 5000 is payable to book your trip (non refundable) and the rest is due a week before the trip commences We take an evening bus to Mcleodganj (Dharamshala, HP) from Majnu ka Tilla to Delhi on 24rth of May, and take a return bus from
