Tamang Heritage Trek is one of the most exciting treks in Nepal located between Langtang and Ganesh Himal. It is exactly situated at the Nepal-Tibet Border where the Tibetans from China and Tibet migrated to Nepal 400 years ago and adopted Nepali origin. We can see many other ethnic tribes here. In Tamang heritage trekking route, we can see beautiful different culture, religion and daily lifestyle of Tamang community of Langtang region. The Tamang heritage trek is normally of total 8 Days to 10 Days.

Our actual Tamang heritage trek begins from Syabrubesi from where we head up to Gatlang and Tatopani. Gatlang is a traditional Tamang village which set high on a hillside among terraced fields with Tamang settlement. During the trekking, we can see many exciting things. We can discover the history of Tibetan ancestors. We can see the tiny wood craved houses where they live and beautiful colorful traditional dresses. These peoples’ main occupation is agriculture and trade. The culture is these people are virtually untouched. The splendid view of the snow-capped mountains is unforgettable and breathtaking. If you plan for Tamang Heritage Trek, then you can plan in the month of March and April where you can see Rhododendron forests with many different species of trees, birds and butterflies, majestic waterfalls, many sacred lakes also known as “Kunda”.

Tamang Heritage trek is especially for those trekkers, who would like to explore the traditional and untouched heritage and lifestyle of indigenous Tamang people. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in TIA Kathmandu

  On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA)you will be received by our staff and escort you to the Hotel, our guide will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu, Trekking, do’s and don’t and other related information that you might require while in Nepal.
• Day 2 : Exploration day in Kathmandu valley

  After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Bhaktapur and Patan such as world heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Darbar squire, Monkey temple, Patan Darbar squire, Bhaktapur Darbar(Place) Squire and latest king Palace Narayanhiti Place museum, after your sightseeing tour and exploration day in Kathmandu at night your trip guide will brief about Tamang Heritage trekking program.
• Day 3 : Drive to Syabru Besi by Public bus/Private Vehicle(1462m) 6 Hours

  Syabru Besi is the initial starting point for Langtang trekking. It takes about 8 to 9 hours of drive from Kathmandu to reach Syabru Besi along the Prithvi Highway covering the distance of 117km. The way offers scenic views of the mountain and rice terrains. Plenty of shops and lodges crowd the Syabru Besi Bazaar, which is a hub for Langtang trekking.
• Day 4 : Trek to Gatlang

  After finished breakfast, your long wait to walk in Nepal Himalaya will begin as first an hour and half of ascent to reach the fantastic viewpoint, from where you can have a breathtaking view of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range, and the Goljang Valley. This is time to decent beautiful Tamang Village Goljang for Nepali typical Lunch, Still you need to work more than 2 hours for your today destination Gatlang for overnight.
• Day 5 : Trek to Tatopani

  This is a long and important day for to see varies things of this trekking trip. today you walk continue 7 hours for to reach Tatopani which literally means ‘Hot water’. According to Nepali thought if you take the bath in this Hot water it is naturally healing for lots of skin problems. Dinner will be around 8 and stay overnight at tea houses lodge
• Day 6 : Trek to Thuman

  Today trekking trial start by ascending to Nagthali Danda(3310m) the height open grassland with wonderful scenery of snowcapped mountains. We will take our break at Brimdang Village for Lunch and continues ascending to Nagthali Danda for another beautiful view upon the Himalaya where accompanied by tea prepared by the caretaker of the Gompa. Trek continues down to Thuman, Tibetan-influenced Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance. stay overnight at trekking lodge,
• Day 7 : Trek to Rasuwagadhi (2240m)

  After your breakfast our today trekking will start for Rasugadhi by 5 hours walking, Rasuwagdhi is a border part of Nepal and Tibet, this day will enjoy with typical Nepali house and beautiful Buddhist monastery on the way, stay overnight at trekking lodge
• Day 8 : Trek to Briddim (2290m)

  Today you walk you’re up warding journey to Briddim for to have a closer view of mountains and cultural by short walking in the land of cultural; and traditional lifestyle Langtang region. you will also explore a beautiful Briddim Village, Overnight at the hotel.
• Day 9 : Trek to Syabrubeshi

  Today we will walk back to the start of our trekking destination. our journey starts to get down to Syabrubensi by 3.5 hours walk. Onto reaching Syabrubesi, we will stay overnight at hotel.
• Day 10 : Syaprubeshi to Kathmandu by Jeep/Local Bus

  Early morning we catch our transport for to back Kathmandu with interesting memories about Tamang heritage trekking trip.
