Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Chennai

  On arrival at Central Railway Station, Chennai you’re taken to hotel for fresh up and the rest of the day is at leisure to tour the city. After taking a stroll at the second largest beach in the world - Marina beach, you are driven to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

• Day 2 : Mamallapuram

  After an early breakfast you are driven to Kancheepuram for dharshan of Lord Kailasanathar at the temple built between 685-705AD by the Pallava Dynasty. After dharshan visit the temples of Lord Vardaraj Perumal and Lord Ekambareshwarar known for its magnificent tower (Gopuram) and structure. Drive to hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Mamallapuram.

• Day 3 : Mamallapuram

  Mamallapuram was a 7th century port city of the South Indian dynasty reigned by the Pallava. The Rathas (temples in the form of chariots), Mandapas (cave sanctuaries), Giant open air rock reliefs such as the famous Descent of the Ganges, and the Shore Temple, with thousands of sculptures to the glory of Lord Shiva will bring to life pages of history. The Group of Monuments at Mamallapuram has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Post lunch drive to Chengalpattu to board train – Rock fort express at 23:28 Train no 12653 heading towards Tiruchirappalli.

  On arrival at Trichy’s Junction you are driven to hotel for fresh up. Later drive to Srirangam Temple, revered as the foremost of the eight self-manifested shrines (Swayam Vyatka Kshetra) of Lord Vishnu. The most important of the 108 main Vishnu temples (Divya desam). After Dharshan drive to the UNESCO world heritage site – The Grand Brahadeshwarar Temple, of 1010 AD. A guide would take you through the times of the Cholan glory and explain the arts and architecture of Tamil Nadu. After lunch drive to ‘Gangai Konda Cholapuram’ – UNESCO world heritage site built during the medieval period of India erected as the capital of the Cholas by Rajendra Chola I. After dinner board Tirupathi Rameswaram Express Train no – 16779 at 23:20 hrs heading to Rameswaram.

• Day 5 : Rameswaram

  On arrival at Rameswaram, check into hotel for fresh up and have dharshan of Lord Ramanathaswamy and take bath at the 22 holy wells. Post lunch drive to Danushkodi, a picturesque town of the yester years, abandoned in 1964 due to a cyclone. Return for the evening aarthi at the Ramanathaswamy temple. After Dinner board Train no – 22621, The Rameswaram Cape Express at 20.45 heading to Kanyakumari (Cape Camorin).

• Day 6 : Kanyakumari

  On arrival at Kanyakumari check in to hotel for fresh up and proceed to have dharshan of Goddess Kumari Amman, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Triveni Sangam and Sunset point. After dinner board Train no 12634, Kanyakumari express at 17.20 hrs heading to Madurai.

• Day 7 : Madurai

  On Arrival at Madurai Junction, check into hotel for fresh up and drive to temple for dharshan of Lord Meenakshi Sundershwarar and Goddess Meenakshi Amman. The sprawling 17 acres of the mammoth Meenkshi Amman Temple is the architectural marvel that pinnacles mythology, 2500 years old. Later drive to Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal of the 1636 AD and enjoy the Sound & Light Show and retire to hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Madurai.

• Day 8 : Kodaikanal

  After an early breakfast drive to Kodaikanal, check-in to hotel for fresh up and visit Kodaikanal Lake, Coakers Walk, Pillar Rocks, Bryant Park, Green valley park, Kurunji Andavar Temple, Chettiar park and spend the evening at leisure at resort until dinner and overnight stay

  After breakfast we drive downhill to Madurai and board train/aircraft.
