Day 1 : Paro Valley to Thimphu Valley (1hr 30 mins)
Pickup from Airport (2200m altitude) after completing the airport formalities, drive to hotel in Thimphu (2300m altitude), which is 65 km from airport. On the way have a view of houses that are build and painted in traditional Bhutanese style. Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2 : Sightseeing in Thimphu.
Start at 8:30am to visit awesome Golden Buddha which also offers an excellent 3 km hike option with sensational valley views. Afterwards visit Zorig Chusum - the Institute of the 13 Arts & Crafts of Bhutant, the Folk Heritage Museum; the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts. After lunch visit the hand-made paper factory and the colorful weekend markets (Fri-Sun) where everyone goes to buy an array of fresh fruits & vegetables, home-wares, handicrafts and clothes. Also visit local Handicraft market in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu to Punakha Valley. (3 hours)
Start at 7:30am towards Punakha. En-route visit the Semtokha Dzong built in 1629 the oldest fortress of its kind that guarded the Thimphu valley, which today is a monastery. Continue ascending to Dochu La pass (3150m altitude) to view 108 Stupas, commissioned by a former Queen as a memorial to those who lost their lives during a low intensity conflict in late 2002 when Bhutan evicted Indian rebels camped in the jungle on the Bhutan. On a clear day, witness a breathtaking view of the eastern Himalaya.
After lunch at Lobesa, visit Chimi Lhakhang, a monastery built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley (also known as the Divine Madman or Mad Monk). There after visit Talo village and nunnery institute on the top of the hill. Dinner and overnight stay at Punakha.
Day 4 : Sightseeing in Punakha.
Start at 8:00am to visit the dramatic Punakha Dzong, which formerly served as the seat of government and is still the winter residence of the Dratsheng (Central Monk Body). And also visit longest suspension bridge in the country above Dzong. This afternoon, take a fascinating hike through fields of vegetables and tiny hamlets to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten. This Chorten holds very special significance being consecrated in 1999 and dedicated to the protection of His Majesty, King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. Dinner and overnight stay at Punakha.
Day 5 : : Punakha Valley to Paro Valley.(5 hrs)
Start early at 7:30am towards Paro. Check into the hotel and after having late lunch, visit Paro Dzong with its cantilever bridge; Kyichu Lhakhang – one of Bhutan’s oldest and most beautiful temples boasting an orange tree that perpetually bears fruit; and the old ruined fortress of the Drugyel Dzong (14km from Paro). On a clear day views of the 7314 meter snow domed peak of sacred Mt Jhomolhari can be seen. Dinner and overnight stay at Paro.
Day 6 : Hiking Pilgrimage towards Tagtsang.
After breakfast at 7:30am, driver will drop guest(s) at the base of Taktsang monastery. From here hike upwards to the monastery which climbs through a beautiful pine forest. The hike leads to the imposing Taktsang monastery, built in 1600s. It is believed that in the 8th century, Guru Rimpoche, the tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, landed here on the back of a flying tigress to subdue a demon. Guru Rimpoche is supposed to have meditated here for three months in a cave where monastery stands at present. Upon return to the base, drive to Paro town for shopping and leisure time. After returning from town, prepare for festive “Farewell Dinner”, discuss the events of the trip, share favorite photos and enjoy the fun and laughter. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 7 : Departure
Drop to airport for onward destination.

• 1 week prior to commencement of the tour program: 40% of the rates
• After arrival in Bhutan: 100% of the rates.
25% cancellation fee on air ticket(s) will be deducted, if cancelled one week prior to scheduled flight date.
