Day 1 : Kochi - Marine Drive
Arrival Kochi Airport by any convenient Flight from Home. You are picked up from the Airport or from any location in Cochin by the representative of Halo Backwaters for your journey in Kerala. Till recently, Kochi was Cochin, and only half as frenetic. It was a lagoon that made Kochi as cherished destination as far back as the early 16th century and it is the same lagoon that makes Kochi one of the nation's busiest port now.After lunch in the hotel proceed for the sightseeing in and around Kochi. The most important heritage sightseeing is in Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. You will need a couple of hours of leisurly walks to take in this heritage quarter. The heritage quarter are includes Santa Cruz Basilica, Princess Street, St.Francis, Dutch Cemetery, Jew Street, Pardesi Synagogue,Chinese Fishing net and Lulu Mall. Overnight stay at Kochi.
Day 2 : Kochi - Munnar
Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Munnar, where sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make it a unique experience. On the way visiting Cheyyappara Waterfalls, viewpoints etc. Check in to your resort and get ready for the special trip to Pothamedu for an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The breath taking scenery here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks. Return to your resort in the evening.
Day 3 : Munnar
This morning after breakfast, visit Mattupetty famous for its highly specialized dairy farm, the Indo-Swiss live stock project. Proceed to Mattupetty lake and dam, which is a very beautiful picnic spot. You could enjoy boating in the lake and view mountains and landscapes from afar. Onwards proceed to Echo point famous for the natural echo phenomenon and then to Top Station offering marvelous views of Munnar valley below.
Say hello to the Nilgiri Tahr.Half the world population of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr lives in the Eravikulam National Park at Munnar.Friendly as they are, you can pat them or pose for pictures with them. So meet them and have plenty to brag about back home.Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 4 : Munnar - Periyar
Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Thekkady (Periyar) nestled in spice and rubber plantations. Known to be Kerala's pride and testimony to nature's splendor, Periyar has a lot to offer in terms of wildlife. Periyar is famous for its rare habitat of birds and animals and is one of the most popular destinations for nature lovers. Check in to your resort and get ready for your trip to cardamom hills where you could have a closer look at the spice plantations.The visit is done in a boat to view animals with a bit of extra luck we may be able to see the rare tiger as well. A boat ride on the lake is a delightful way of spotting elephants and avifauna. If you are forunate, you might even spot the pride of the sanctuary, the tiger. Although tiger sightings are not very common, there are enough of these magnificent felines around (Boat ride is depend upon the availability of the cruise (Cost of this tour is Extra)).
Later on proceed to visit the Elephant Junction or Elephant Camp. This is a unique experience, seated atop an elephant; guests are taken along trails into the depths of the cardamom, pepper, coffee and tea plantation. The ride can be a miss of moments of pure terror interspersed with long perid of utter peace. Overnight at Thekkady.
Day 5 : Periyar - Kumarakom
After breakfast drive to Kumarakom and check into the hotel.Kumarakom is a sleepy little village tucked away from the din and bustle of city life. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is an Ornithologist's paradise and a favorite haunt of migrating birds like Siberian stork,darter,heron and teal to name a few.The Vembanad backwaters have to be experienced slowly,leisurely and languidly.Kumarakom,one of the most enchanting backwater village of God's Own Country.Where you can give in yourself to the unforgettable delights of a world - renowned paradise.Tourists throng Kumarakom to experience its gentle pace of life and stunning views of nature. The only places to visit are the nearby Bird Sanctuary,the Driftwood Museum.
Later on drive to the hotel for breakfast and a short relaxation.After the relaxation proceed to visit he Driftwodd Museum.This museum was the brainchild of Raji Punnose, a teacher who worked in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for 25 years.The museum has a stunning array of elegant driftwood sculpture.
By evening proceed to visit the Bird Sanctuary,spread across 14 acres in a former rubber plantation that was previously known as Baker’s Estater,the Englishman who developed this area into a bird sanctuary would be glad to see the large number of delighted bird waters who gather here today.Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
Day 6 : Kumarakom - Alappuzha
After breakfast drive to Alappuzha & check into the houseboat at 12 noon for 1 Night / 2 Days riding in the backwaters & small canals.
A glide in a houseboat through the enchanting backwaters is sure to rob your heart. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expense of panoramic sight one can never forgetting less than 15 minutes, the low hum of the motor and the dazzling afternoon light have tuned out the noises in your head, the deadlines, the telephone, the unfinished chapters. Watch the white tire-tread clouds turn into wisps of animal fur and then disappear. The isolation on a luxury houseboat is total. Overnight stay in a houseboat.
Pick up from Alleppey Finishing Point Jetty at 1200 hours. Cruise through Azhikkal Canal , Kuppappuram, Pallathuruthy, Kainakary Church canal, Venattukadu Canal , Cherukayal, C-Blcock, Marthandam, R-Block and reach E-Block Tharishu for the night stay. Overnight stay in the houseboat
Day 7 : Alappuzha - Kochi
After breakfast,you will be check-out in Alappuzha from the house boat and transferred to Kochi. Alappuzha is a unique backwater destination situated on the banks of the Vembanad Lake is considered as gateway to the backwater of Kuttanad, the granary of Kerala.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kochi airport/railway station to catch the flight/train to home. On departure the tour concludes with happy memories. Tour Concludes.
