Rwanda is a landlocked country situated in Central Africa, bordered to the North by Uganda, to the East by Tanzania, to the South by Burundi and to the West by the Democratic Republic of Congo. Considered to be among the smallest countries on the continent, Rwanda’s total area is estimated to be KM2 26,338. Day 1 : Arrival in Kigali
On arrival our guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to a hotel for relaxation and preparation for the next day.
Day 2 : Kigali - Huye - Nyungwe
National Museum Butare - Nyungwe In the morning after breakfast drive to Huye where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda and learn a lot about Rwandan history especially during the pre-colonial period, have lunch at Huye. From here you will drive to Gikongoro to visit Murambi memorial site a school where 27,000 people were killed during the 1994 genocide. After the moving moments, you will proceed to Nyungwe Forest N.P Overnight: Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 3 : Nyungwe
Nyungwe Forest N.P Early in the morning head to the park and hike to see one of the closest primates to man (Chimpanzee) and later have a late lunch at the hotel. Overnight Nyungwe forest lodge Nyungwe or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 4 : Nyungwe - Kibuye
Nyungwe Forest N. P As it would be hard to do all the activities in one day, you rise up early in the morning and head to Uwinka reception where you will start your canopy walk or go for water fall after you will have a late lunch and head for Kibuye. Overnight Moriah Hill or Bethany.
Day 5 : Kibuye - Gisenyi
Kibuye -Gisenyi Leave Kibuye in the morning and head for Gisenyi where you will relax at the beach and later do a city tour of Gisenyi.
Day 6 : Gisenyi - Musanze
Continue experiencing the unique Rwanda by having a fantastic experience of our crop to cup tour with optional Nyamirundi Islands, here you will know the whole process of how coffee is made right from the garden until it is in the cup and you will also involve the processing. After this experience you will go relax at the beach. Overnight at le Bambou Gorilla lodge or Mount gorilla view lodge.
Day 7 : Musanze - Kigali
Volcanoes National Park This will be a day to travel to the most exciting destination in the country and that’s the Gorilla trekking which will start very early in the morning our guide will pick you up from the hotel and you drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where you will be allocated a group and drive to the park entrance where trekking starts, depending on a group visited the track ranges from 1hr to 6hr hiking through the forest. You only have 1 hr watching these amazing creatures with the silver back. After drive back to the Hotel have lunch and drive back to Kigali.
Day 8 : Kigali
Kigali city & This is Africa Tour Very personal introduction ‘This is Africa’, a guided exploration of the multi-cultural urban area of Nyamirambo with the young and charming ladies of the NWC, History-minded exploration of Kigali with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times, Overnight: Kigali Serena Hotel.
Day 9 : Kigali - Akagera - Kigali
Akagera N.P Safari Drive to the Park entrance where a briefing about how the behavior in the park is going to be given. After that a park guide will be provided to make the Safari more interesting and informative as he/she will be telling you the different species, breeding seasons and their characteristics among others. Lunch at Akagera Game Lodge Over night: Kigali Serena Hotel.
Day 10 : Kigali - Bugesera
Millennium villages Tour Bugesera We shall drive to Bugesera to visit the Millennium village where you will have the real picture of rural development and poverty eradication in Rwanda. The millennium village tour is a unique experience that introduces the development challenges in South-Eastern Rwanda. An additional experience of what unity and reconciliation has been like in Rwanda is not left out. Optional activities and souvenir shopping depending on available time Farewell at the airport.
