Most of the regions are now completely accessible, secured and open to tourists but as the local infrastructures, in term of Tourist Office, local guides, detailed maps… are still very poor outside of Phnom Penh and Angkor, the departure routes will be from one of these towns, accompanied by a guide familiar with the area visited.

That excursion to the Bokor national park is certainly the most spectacular of the Kingdom due to the 30 kms ascent (1h30mns to 2h30mns depending on the driver ability) on a rough and bumpy trail in the midst of a preserved and impenetrable jungle. After 20 kms, stopover at the former Royal residence completely disused…
That description seems to be taken from a several-decade-guide book because the newly-opened road is now completed and of a high level of security.

The Bokor will become the trendy climate station it was once, with the new hotel-casino, villas, restaurants, swimming-pools, shops… for a rich clientele eager of novelties.
The bucolic side of that excursion is over but the ascent of the Bokor is still spectacular and fresh is the climate at the top.

Program

Morning departure from Phnom Penh by Route Nationale 3 through the Cambodian country till Kampot. Change of vehicle there and ascent of the Bokor hill. Picnic lunch at the top and back to Kampot then Phnom Penh in early evening.
After the visit to the Bokor, possibility to be accommodated at a seaside place, Kep or Sihanoukville, or Kampot.

That excursion may be added to our Phnom Penh – Angkor programs.
