Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Bangalore

  Arrive Bangalore. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.

• Day 2 : In Bangalore

  Morning Sightseeing of the city with Vidhana Soudha, the beautiful botanical gardens of Lal Bagh, St Mark’s Cathedral and enjoy some shopping at MG road. Overnight stay.

• Day 3 : Bangalore - Hasan by road 210 Kms / 04 Hrs Approx

  Morning drive to Hasan. Upon arrival check-in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit the intricately carved Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebid. Overnight stay.

• Day 4 : Hasan - Mysore by road 150 Kms / 03 Hrs Approx

  Morning drive to Mysore enroute visiting the Gomatheshwara Statue at Sravanbelgola and Tippu’s Summer Palace at Srirangapattanam. Upon arrival check-in at your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.

• Day 6 : Mysore - Ooty by road 160 Kms / 04 Hrs Approx. Ooty-Coonoor by Nilgir toy train

  Morning drive to Ooty railway station . We board the famous miniature steam train from Ooty at 15.00 hrs which drops at Coonoor. The train trip offers stunning view points and is definitely a memorable experience. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay.

• Day 7 : In Coonoor

  After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Ooty visiting - Botanical garden (the most popular place of interest in Ooty), Doddabeda (Highest peak of Tamil Nadu) & the Market at the main town. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.

• Day 8 : Coonoor - Cochin by road 290 kms 7-8 hrs

• Day 9 : In Cochin

  Cochin, also known as the ‘Venice of the East’ has wonderful diverse influences. Afternoon you will visit the Chinese fishing nets, the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue and St. Francis Church. In the evening enjoy a Kathakali dance performance. Overnight stay.

• Day 10 : Cochin - Alleppey by road 65 Kms / 01 Hrs Approx

• Day 11 : Alleppey - Kottayam Boat jetty. Kottayam boat jetty - Thekkady by road 165 Kms /4 hrs

  In the morning you will reach Kottayam boat jetty and will disembark from the house boat after breakfast. Then drive to Thekkady . Upon arrival check-in at your hotel.   Morning breakfast. Then begin with sightseeing tour of Madurai city. Visit the great Meenakshi Temple, an excellent example of Dravidian Architecture, dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams (rising high above the surrounding countryside). Also visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious building in the Indo Mughal style, famous for the Stuccowork on its domes and arches. In the evening witness the night ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple. Overnight stay.

• Day 14 : Madurai - Thanjavur by road 180 Kms / 04 Hrs Approx

  Early morning drive to Thanjavur. Upon arrival check-in at your hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of famous Thanjavur city, visiting the beautiful Chola Temple of Brihadeeshwara. The temple is capped by a monolithic cupola made of a single granite block weighing 80 tones, which was taken to the top with the help of a 6 km long ramp, an old technique used by the Egyptians for building the Pyramids. It’s bronzes and handicrafts make Thanjavur one of the highlights of a visit to South India. Overnight stay.

• Day 15 : Thanjavur - Pondicherry by road 177 Kms / 05 Hrs Approx

  Morning drive to Pondicherry. En route visiting Chidambaram & Kumbakonam. Chidambaram is situated between two rivers in a 40 acre temple complex & here lies the temples of Chidambaram, one of the oldest, most venerated and magnificent temples of South India. Shiva Natraja or the Dancing Shiva stands in his cosmic dance pose in the golden rooted sanctum sanctorum. Flanking the temple are 108 sculptured illustrations of Bharat Natya Shastra. In Akash Lingam hidden by a veil, lies the real secret of Chidambaram.
  
  Kumbakonam is a very important Temple City of South India. Kumbakonam is one of the oldest towns in Tamil Nadu and is famous for its Mahamaham festival. In the 7th Century it was the Capital of Chola Kings. Visit the Kumbeshwaran Temple. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay.

• Day 16 : Pondicherry - Mahabalipuram by road 143 Kms / 03 Hrs Approx

  Morning sightseeing tour of Pondicherry. • Day 17 : In Mahabalipuram

  Morning guide tour of Mahabalipuram to see the remarkable monolith rathas (5 rock-carved temple chariots); various panels that depict scenes from Hindu mythology and fables from the Panchtantra, the Cave Temple and the Shore Temple. Afternoon excursion to Kanchipuram, which was under the Pallavas from the 6th to 8th century AD and later became the citadel of the Cholas, Vijaya-nagar Kings, the Muslim and the British. It has been a centre of Tamil learning, cultural and religious background for centuries. Kanchipuram has magnificent temples of unique architectural beauty bearing eloquent testimony to its glorious Dravidian heritage. Overnight stay.
