Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : London

    Arrive London, Check in and Overnight at London.

  • Day 2 : London – Cotswold’s – Stradford -Warwick

    After breakfast, we head on to Oxford to see the city’s famous university buildings, continue your journey and visit Winston Churchill’s grave at Bladon before taking a scenic drive through the golden stone villages of the Cotswold’s to the market town of Stradford – Upon – Avon, home to the William Shakespeare, whose birth place you visit and Anne Hathaway’s cottage, continue your journey to your hotel in nearby Warwick. Overnight at Warwick.

  • Day 3 : Warwick – Coventry – York.

    After Breakfast, continue to Coventry this morning, where, according to legend, Lady Godiva rode naked through the streets, see Coventry Cathedral which was bombed during the blitz and rebuilt after the war, continue north through the varied scenery of the midlands to York. Enjoy the walking tour inside the ancient city wall to see the maze of narrow streets including the Shambles, where the houses lean towards each other so far that they almost touch, other highlights are the Mansion House and York Minster – largest medieval church in Northern Europe. Overnight at York.

  • Day 4 : York – Edinburgh

    After breakfast, this morning we are off to Durham, which is dominated by its 11th century Norman cathedral , its castle overlooking Palace Green and other fine buildings surrounded by the picturesque River Wear. Time to explore this small but magnificent city before driving through the Northumberland National Park to a section of Hadrian’s Wall where we can take pictures of the Roman construction. Then we cross the Scottish border at Carter Bar in the wild Cheviot Hills for spectacular views and pause to see the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey and cross the salmon-rich river Tweed before reaching the beautiful Scottish capital of Edinburgh. Overnight at Edinburgh.

  • Day 5 : Edinburgh

    After breakfast, we proceed for morning sightseeing tour with a local guide this morning are many fascinating highlights. The Royal Mile, views of Holyrood House and Arthur’s Seat, Princes Street, the Scottish Parliament and a visit to Edinburgh Castle is included. There maybe the opportunity to visit the nearby Rosslyn Chapel just south of the city– which retains an aura of mystery with its many references to the Knights Templar and Freemasonry – but more recently an important feature of the ‘Da Vinci Code’. During the Edinburgh Festival – please check with us for the tickets of the spectacular Military Tattoo. Overnight at Edinburgh.

  • Day 6 : Edinburgh – Scottish Highlands (Aviemore)

    After breakfast , we drive across the Forth Bridge to the famous golf course at St. Andrews on the Fife coast where we stop to take a picture at the 18th hole! Then on to the Scottish Highlands and over the River Tay to visit charming Pitlochry village, famous for its salmon. Here we visit a famous whisky distillery where we learn about this great Scottish speciality and have the chance to sample a ‘wee dram’. Overnight at Aviemore.

  • Day 7 : Scottish Highland - Glasgow

    After beakfast, this morning we drive to Culloden Moor where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated by the redcoats. We visit the famous battlefield before continuing to Loch Ness – keep your eyes open for the monster! – and we stop here to take pictures at the romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle the shores of Loch Cluanie through Glen Shiel where the Five Sisters of Kintail surge up to heights of 3,000 feet, next we visit Eilean Donan Castle before crossing to the Isle of Skye. Later, we return to the mainland and travel via Loch Carron and Achnasheen back to Inverness on to Fort William where we will see Ben Nevis – Britain’s highest mountain – before driving on to Glencoe. Finally we reach Loch Lomond en route to Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow – once one of the most important shipbuilding cities in the world. Overnight at Glasgow.

  • Day 8 : Glasgow – Lake District (Grasmere)

    AAfter an orientation tour of Glasgow, featuring George Square we drive through the Southern Uplands to Gretna Green. Here eloping couples married against their parents’ wishes! Now into the English Lake District to Grasmere where the great English poet William Wordsworth lived and wrote his most wellknown poem ‘The Daffodils’. We’ll see Rydal Mount – the house of William Wordsworth. We then drive to spectacular Lake Windermere, which is the largest natural lake in England - being 10 - miles long and 10 -miles across at its widest point with a depth of up to 220 feet. Take a cruise on Lake Windemere. We then continue to our hotel in Grasmere. Overnight at Grasmere.

  • Day 9 : Lake District (Grasmere) - Chester – Cardiff

    This morning after breakfast we head south to the former Roman fortress town of Chester where our walking tour will take you the remarkably well preserved Roman Walls, the cathedral and the black and white Tudor arcaded buildings known as the ‘Rows’, see also the remain of the Roman Amphitheatre, the colourful Jubilee Clock, from here we cross over to Wales and Brecon Beacons National Park, land of salmon rivers and the Welsh mountain pony. Finally, through ‘The Valleys’, whose iron ore and coal were the raw materials for the Industrial Revolution, to Cardiff, the Welsh capital. Arrive at Cardiff and overnight at Cardiff.

  • Day 10 : Cardiff – Bath – Plymouth

  • Day 11 : Plymouth – London

    After breakfast , continue your journey and drive along the Salisbury plain to visit the ancient stone circle of Stonehenge, made up of strange and awe inspiring monoliths reputed to be over 4000 years old. Then proceed to Salisbury where we have time to admire the cathedral and its spire – the tallest in Britain! Continue onto Plymouth - Cruise up Plymouth Sound to the harbor and the Mayflower Steps, from where the pilgrim father set sail on the Mayflower, back on the dry land , see the Hoe, where Sir Francis Drake played bowls, the Citadel and explore the historic Barbican area, now its out over the rugged wild heather clad Dartmoor, with its sinister memories of the remote prison and “hound of the Baskervilles. Overnight at Plymouth.

  • Day 12 : Plymouth – London

    After breakfast, depart from Plymouth and proceed to London Airport for your return flight back home.
