SHIMLA : Shimla, also known as Simla, is the capital city of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The city is up in the mountains at around 2,200 metres (approximately 7,234 feet). The colonial architecture and churches, the temples, and the natural environment of the city attracts tourists. Major city centre’s attractions include the Shri Hanuman Jakhu (Statue), Jakhu Temple, Viceregal Lodge, Christ Church, Mall Road, The Ridge and Annadale. The city centre’s northern most point is Jakhoo and the southern most location is Annadale, and the easternmost point is Sanjauli and western point is Chotta Shimla. The Kalka–Shimla Railway line built by the British, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a major tourist attraction. In shimla snow capped shivalik mountain ranges offering some stunning views of the mighty Himalayas ,it is surrounded by pine deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Towards the north lie the snow-covered high-ranges, while the valleys breathe whispering streams and swaying fields. Shimla offers a variety of shopping, sport and entertainment activities.Sangla is a town in the Baspa Valley, also referred to as the Sangla valley, in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, India, close to the Tibetan border.Kalpa is a small village in the Sutlej river valley, above Reckong Peo in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Northern India, in the Indian Himalaya. Inhabited by Kinnauri people and known for its apple orchards. Apples are a major cash-crop for the region.Sarahan is a small town in Himachal Pradesh of India. It is the site of the Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple, dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali, presiding deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr State.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Chandigarh to Shimla(120 km; 4 hrs)

  On arrive at Chandigarh proceed to Shimla the former summer capital of British India, set amidst the snow capped Shivalik Mountains which offers some of the most stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Arrive check in hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay in Shimla.

• Day 2 : Shimla - Sarahan (165 kilometers in approximately 7 hours)

  After breakfast, drive from Shimla to Sarahan via Kufri, Theog, Fagu, Narkanda, Rampur, on this route, halt at Rampur for lunch. On reaching Sarahan, check-in to your Hotel. 2165 meters above the sea level, Sarahan commands a view of Srikhand Mahadev Peak and is famous for 800 years old Bhimakali Temple, one of the best examples of Hill Architecture. In the evening, enjoy panoramic view of Shrikhand Peaks. Also visiting Bhimakali Temple - one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, Attend the mesmerizing evening Aarti Ceremony thereafter this return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.

• Day 3 : Sarahan - Sangla (90 kilometers in approximately 5 hours)

  Sarahan is 2744 meters above the sea level. Participate in morning Aarti at Bhimakali Temple. After breakfast, check-out from your Hotel and depart for Sangla via Karcham. Your journey from here will take you to another spectacular destination in the middle Himalayas which is also known as Baspa valley – the prettiest valley in Himachal. Arrive at Sangla & check-in to your Hotel. After a delicious dinner, sleep comfortably overnight.

• Day 4 : Sangla- Chitkul- Sangla (Stay) (3 HOURS./40 KM) Hrs

  After breakfast, explore the vicinity around including an ancient Kamru Fort & Temple dedicated to the Goddess Kamakhya Devi which was brought from Assam & Nages God. Post Lunch, excursion to Chitkul – a last Village on Old Indo – Tibetan Trade Route. Walk through green orchards & brilliant stream. Return back to Sangla for Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel..

• Day 5 : Sangla - Kalpa

  After breakfast, check-out from the Hotel & drive to Kalpa – District Headquarter of Kinnar & once a favorite haunt of Lord Dalhousie. Arrive Kalpa & Check-in to your Hotel. Kalpa was known as Chini back in the days when it was the Regional Capital. Kalpa has changed little in the last 500 years. It is said that as & when Lord Dalhousie wanted to take a break from his hectic schedule in Shimla, he would come here on his Horseback. Each & every corner of Kalpa facing Jorkanden & the Kinner Kailash Peaks, considered as one of the mythical homes of Lord Shiva & by its side is a 79 foot rock formation that resembles a Shivlinga that changes the colour as the day passes & is visible to the naked eye on a clear day. Post Lunch rest in Hotel & in evening visit to Buddhist Gompa – Hu Bu Lan Kar. Overnight stay at hotel.

• Day 6 : Kalpa

  Early morning enjoy the Sunrise over Kinner Kailash Peaks. After break fast Kalpa is famous for its Apples & Chilgoza Plantations [a kind of Dry Fruits], which are found only in Iran & Turkey besides here. The tree belongs to the Pine Family & the fruit is in about an inch long soft cover. Visit to local School & Narayan Nagini Temple Complex, which has Shrines of Hindu, Buddhist & local Deities. Post lunch excursion trip to Roghi Village to explore the ‘Pahari’ Life. Interact with the locals. Return back to Kalpa. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

  Early Morning After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Chandigarh Railway Station by Cab and board train back to home with sweet Memorable moments of your JOURNEY.
