Siem Reap International Travel proposes you the discovery of other regions and other places of Cambodia with programs tailored to each destination.

Most of the regions are now completely accessible, secured and open to tourists but as the local infrastructures, in term of Tourist Office, local guides, detailed maps… are still very poor outside of Phnom Penh and Angkor, the departure routes will be from one of these towns, accompanied by a guide familiar with the area visited.

We propose the discovery of the Ratanakiri, northeastern region of Cambodia, where different ethnics live. The tours mainly apply to trekkers and are only available during the dry season. They are feasible departing either from Phnom Penh or Siem Reap.

Be aware that since 2007 there is no air connection to Banlung, the main town of that region. The only way to reach that town is the former trail from Kratie. That trail has become an asphalted road and it is possible to reach Banlung to Phnom Penh during the day. But we recommend a stop at Kratie, which is half way (254kms to Banlung and 340kms to Phnom Penh), to visit the town and the last freshwater Irrawadi dolphins.

The tours below are provided only with services in Banlung; for transfers from / to Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, we will indicate the best solution to get there according to the local circumstances. An overnight at Stung Treng is advisable.

These excursions may be added to our programs Angkor Classic or Phnom Penh – Angkor.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Stung Treng - Banlung

  Morning: Arrive at hotel and lunch.
  
  Afternoon: Visit to Kachanh and Chaong waterfalls. Stroll around the Yaklom lake.
• Day 2 : Banlung

  Transfer to Voeusai in 4×4 vehicle and boat trip on the Sen river (45 mns) to meet the Tampuon minorities, at Kachan village . Visit the cemeteries which make their reputation. Trip back by the Chinese minorities villages and picnic lunch. Visit other Chinese and Lao villages and boat back to Voeunsai then transfer to Banlung in 4×4.
• Day 3 : Banlung

  Transfer in 4×4 vehicle to Phome Korn village (Kreung minority) then departure for a 3-hour walk by the trail till La Ak village. Visit of the village (Communal house, house of Bachelors…). Lunch at the Communal house then proceed to the Phome Krala village. Back to Phome Korn (2h30 walk at all) and transfer to Banlung in 4×4.
• Day 4 : Banlung - Stung Treng

  Free time till departure.
