Day 2 : KATHMANDU

Day 3 : KATHMANDU
In one day, you should visit the nearby royal cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. In those cities you
will find the Durbar Square, less crowded and even better preserved than in the capital. In the
evening don’t miss the Lazimpat area with some nice restaurants and some interesting organic

Day 4 : KATHMANDU - POKHARA
It’s time to ride towards the high mountains. We will cross several mountains ports to reach the
city of Pokhara on the feet of Annapurna range. The views from almost any corner of the city
are amazing and announce the approach to the nature that we are going to start these days.

Day 5 : POKHARA
The valley of Pokhara have several waterfalls, caves and gorges. But one of the most
memorable things to do is boating in the Phewa Lake. Usually the Himalayas reflect on its
waters and it is also a great place for fishing and swimming when the water is not extremely
cold. In the centre of the lake, a small temple devoted to goddess Barahi will bring the spiritual

Day 6 : POKHARA

It’s time to go back to Kathmandu. We will reach in the late afternoon, still with time for a

Day 9 : CHITWAN - KATHMANDU

Day 10 : KATHMANDU – KODARI – ZHANGMU
Take the road to Tibet. The Friendship Bridge in Kodari will take you through the no man’s land
up to Zhangmu valley, the first stop in our Tibetan tour. In this one day journey you will see the
busy transit of trucks in the Nepal-China border on the hillside of Mount Everest. Enjoy the life
and sceneries of a customs city at 2300 meters over see level with a subtropical climate, a
rarity in the Tibetan plateau. Overnight at hotel
Day 11 : ZHANGMU – XEGAR
Surrounding the Mount Everest, we will reach Xegar, on the base of the highest peak in the
world. We are entering the real Tibet with a clear change in the architecture and landscape.
The hanging towns and the gompas will start to unveil the unique Tibetan culture. Overnight at
hotel.
Day 12 : XEGAR – XIGATSE
Xigatse has one of the most impressive castles, a model for the Potala. The actual structure is a
reconstruction, since the Tibetan under Chinese occupation dismantled the 17th Century
fortress. The city is also the seat of Panchem Lama and home of one of the most important
monasteries in Tibet, Tashilhunpo, surrounded by the typical skyline of the plateau. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 13 : XIGATSE – GYANTSE
Gyantse used to be the third city in Tibet. With 8000 inhabitants, this city at almost 4000
meters high hosts the Kumbum, the biggest chorten in Tibet, inside the Palcho Monastery. The
ruins of the impressive Dzong, a 14th Century fort, still reign over the fertile plains of Nyang Chu
valley. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14 : GYANTSE – LHASA
Our last stage will drive us to Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. Get mesmerized by the last kilometers
of the route in the middle of the unique landscapes of the Tibetan plateau and the small
villages with hanging gompas on the road. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15 : LHASA
Once a lost city in the middle of nowhere, Lhasa is nowadays linked with China by the new
railway. The Tibetan capital has changed a lot in the last decades, but the impressive Potala still
seems over control. We will devote the day to visit the Dalai Lama Palace, UNESCO World
Heritage. We will take advantage of the evening to soak into the changing urban life of Lhasa.

Day 16 : LHASA
Let’s make the most of the day visiting the Norbulinka Palace and the main Universities of
Gelukpa Tibetan Buddhism. Sera and Drepung
where monasteries and important centres of
knowledge for the Tibetan culture and still keep
its prestige, although the recent changes in Tibet
also brought the Western universities to the city.

Day 17 : LHASA – KATHMANDU
We will fly back to Nepal. Enjoy your last free evening in the streets of Thamel or visit the more
quiet Lazimpat area for your last shopping, for a nice massage or a last dinner in some
traditional or fancy restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18 : KATHMANDU - YOUR COUNTRY
