7 Nights / 8 Days
Pick up: We will pick you up at the world’s second highest Airport (if by air) or the Taxi Stand (if by road). Since Leh is at a very high altitude, you won’t be able to explore much, because if you do, your other 5 days might get wasted. But do not worry, we will not let the day get wasted.
Breakfast: We will provide you with a great breakfast of your choice.
Leh Market: You will then be visiting Leh Market. It is the ancient market of Leh, which has been evolving into a modern market, but it is pollution-less and vehicle less. The Leh market is interesting because it is an amalgamation of the traditional Ladakhi market and modern markets.
Leh Palace: We will then take you to Leh Palace. The Leh Palace is said to have a very unique architectural style that has very less similarity to other ancient and medieval structures of India. Leh Palace in itself is a very beautiful building, which has a great history behind it. By evening, you will have a great view of the sunset from the Palace. Also, from the top of the Palace, you will have a great view of Leh town extending till Stok. A perfect start for your trip.
Shanti Stupa: We will take you Shanti Stupa. This amazing Stupa is said to have been built by Japanese people. This beautiful architectural piece has more than 500 steps if you are a fitness freak and love to climb. But do not worry, you can also go around by a car to the top. Shanti Stupa also has a great view of the whole town of Leh.
Khardungla Pass: Ever wondered how the highest motorable place on the face of earth looks like? Well, this is the day we are going to explore it. Standing at an altitude of more than 20,000 ft., this place is for sure worth visiting. It is on the way to our trip to Nubra Valley.
Arriving Turtuk: Many a times it is said, “The means should be as good as the goal”. It holds true for this trip. We will take you through Nubra while witnessing the white desert and the beautiful mountains. We will arrive to the traditional village of Turtuk by afternoon. This village is the last Indian village, as Indian borders touch Pakistan in this village.
Turtuk Waterfall: We will then take you to view the splendid waterfall of Turtuk. This waterfall, though not famous because of its rough terrains, is worth a visit and is very picturesque. You get to visit places like this only once in a lifetime.
Turtuk Museum: The museum is that of the past king of Baltistan. After a great view of nature, one needs to see the beauties created by humans as well. And surprisingly, the successors to the king of Turtuk, known as the Yabgo Dynasty, still exist. They used to rule the whole of Baltistan areas. How nice would it be go time travel back to the past? This is the closest to it we have.
Exposure to Balti Culture: We will make sure that you feel like a Balti while your stay in Turtuk. The locals are very hospitable and friendly, though they might not be as fluent in English or Hindi. The language that they speak, also called Balti, is different than that of Ladakhi spoken by the residents of Leh.
Nubra: After a hearty meal of breakfast, we will leave for Nubra Valley, a valley that most travelers love to visit.
Hunder: Hunder is a village in Nubra. This place is so picturesque that movies like Dil Se has been shot here. Being the capital of the ancient Nubra kingdom, you can still see the ruins of the former King’s palace, also known as the Elephant Palace by the locals. Also, you must have seen camels of Rajasthan, we have it here also, but with a stark difference. The camels of Hunder are of a different species, and they have double humps, unlike the normal single humped camels. You will take a ride on these camels in the white desert. Moreover we will also explore the Hunder Village.
Panamic: After a wonderful camel safari, we will take you to nature’s hot springs. Yes, it is true, and the springs have real hot water. What more, you can take bath in these. It is a place known for its true value and one of nature’s many miracles. You will also be interacting with the locals in the village if you want to know more about their social and cultural life.
Stay: We will halt for the night in Nubra, away from all the sound pollution and get a good night’s sleep.
Khardungla Again: Don’t think that looking at Khardungla again will not give you much thrill. It is one of those places which you will never get bored off. Also, you might have missed to take some angular photos. Well, you can do it!
