Day 1 : Katmandu to Zhangmu (2300m) 156km
Early morning scenic drive to KODARI through the beautiful Nepalese country side. After necessary border formalities both at Nepalese and Chinese immigration, Drive to Zhangmu O/N at Hotel
Day 2 : Zhangmu to Shigatse (4300m) - 225 Km.
Drive to Xegar via Lalungla pass.from where you can enjoy the Beautiful view of Mt Xisapangma (8212m) and Mt. Cho-oyu (8201m) and continue Drive to Shigatse O one of the most historically significant villages in Tibet. On the way, we visit Sakya Monastery. Sakya Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Tibet, and is home to the Sakyapa sect of Buddhism.. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 : Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m) - 90 Km
In the morning visit the Tashilunpo Monastery and the free bazaar of Xigaste. Tashilumpo lies at the foot of Drolmari, or Tara’s Mountain, on the western side of Shigatse. It is one of Tibet’s most influential monasteries, founded in 1477 by Gendun Drubpa, the first Dalai Lama. Inside the monastery, the Maitreya Chapel is the tallest building and houses the world’s largest brass statue of Buddha at 26.2 meters (86 feet) high, seated on a 3.8 meter (12 foot) high lotus throne made of gold, brass and precious gems, After lunch embark on a pleasant 2 hours drive to Gyantse with its amazing sites Khumbum, Palkor Chode Monastery and Gyantse Dzong, Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 : Gyantse to Tsedang (3320m) - 261km.
Drive to Tsedang via Yamdrok Lake (Special place for Bird watching ), and high passes Kora la (5010M) and Kambala (4794M) O/N at Hotel
Day 5 : Tsedang to Lhasa Via Samye Monastery -120 Km
Visit Yambulakhang and Tandruk Monastery and Drive to Samye Monastery, explore Monastery and Drive to Lhasa O/ at Hotel
Day 6 : Lhasa Sightseeing Tour
Today we explore the heart of Tibet with taking the special tour; our tour begins with a visit to Sera Monastery, Sera, in Tibetan, means “Wild Rose Garden” since opulent wild rose woods once grew around it. The Sera monastery was completed in 1419. The Monastery is erected grandly at a mountain slope with a colorful architecture, Explore Norbulinka Palace, in Tibetan ‘beautiful gardens’ and the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. At serene Sera Monastery, enjoy watching the monks animatedly debating the Buddhist scriptures and see the wonderful collection of ancient murals and statues as well as scriptures written in gold powder, wonderful scroll paintings, tapestries and Thangka that can be seen throughout. Visit the Jokhang Temple, a spiritual center of Tibetan people. Every day, numerous Buddhists from every corner of Tibet come to burn incense to worship here. Follow the pilgrimage circuit along the ancient streets of the old town around Barkhor Bazaar and return back to hotel for overnight.
Day 7 : Another Sightseeing Day in Lhasa
Today we will explore the Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery. The 17th century Potala Palace offers an awesome view of entire city and also has private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms and chapels, you are guided thought ancient chamber of the palace and get to see Tibetan art and statues, After visit Potala palace enjoy the solemnity of holy Dreprung Monastery one of the largest Monastery in Tibet which was built in 14th century used to shelter around 10,000 monks, where you can observe many nuns and monks changing and performing religious discourses, but as now there has been quite a declination resulting in only few hundreds. Tibetans’ respect and belief are immensely knotted with this monastery, evening free for Shopping return back to hotel for overnight.
Day 8 : Lhasa-namtso Lake (4720m) - 240km
Early Morning Drive to Namtso Lake, bird watching over there This is the largest lake in Tibet. Located on the old road between Lhasa and Gyantse , It’s famous as a wintering site of Black necked Cranes.O/N at Guest House.
Day 9 : Namtso Lake - Lhasa (3650m)
Explore Namtso Lake and sightseeing around then Drive to Lhasa O/N at Hotel
Day 10 : Final Departure from Lhasa
Early morning drive to airport for departure flight to Kathmandu or to your onward destination.
