There are many other small ceremonies of interest so do not worry.
But apart from all the living adventure, then there are all the sights that always will be there: The many impressive graves. The stone graves in Suaya, The baby graves in Kambira and The Hanging Graves that are situated behind the beautiful village of Ke’te Kesu’. In this village you will be able to look at the Tongkonan Houses, which are the original Torajan Houses. All nice decorated with different patterns, which all have a meaning. The roofs are in shape of a boat and outside the houses you will see the buffalo horns. They show the status of the family.
You will also have the possibility to get close to the local people. Especially in the local markets in Makale and Rantepao. They will be very interested in you as you are in them. This is the beauty of Torajan people. Just be sure to be smiling and show respect for old people.
