Day 1 : Arrive Saigon (D)
Welcome to Saigon! You will be met at the airport for transfer to your hotel in Saigon. The rest of the day is at leisure. Saigon is a bustling, dynamic and industrious urban center. It is the largest city in Vietnam, the economic capital and the cultural trendsetter. Yet within the teeming metropolis are the timeless traditions and beauty of an ancient culture. Day 2 : Saigon City Tour (B,L,D)
Reunification-palaceIn the morning, visit the Reunification Palace, former home to the President of southern Vietnam and his predecessors. Nearby is the grand Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883, it is one of the city’s major landmarks, Neo-Romanesque in style. Then you will visit Dong Khoi street (formerly Catinat Rue), Continental Hotel, Opera House and Ben Thanh Market. After lunch, continue on to Chinese quarter and visit the lively Binh Tay market (Cho Lon), Thien Hau temple, Ngoc Hoang Pagoda and Tay Son Lacquerware. Back to Saigon’s center for diner. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 3 : Saigon - Mekong Delta - Saigon (B, L)
Mekong-deltaAfter breakfast, travel out of Saigon and spend the full day boating along the waterways of the lush Mekong Delta region on an exploration excursion. The excursion will begin after boarding a luxury wooden boat, the Mekong Queen, with a visit of the colorful Cai Be floating market, where you can witness all of trading activities of local traders with several kinds of agricultural product from one boat to another. You then continue the cruise to a local factory to visit and learn how pop rice, pop corn, rice paper and coconut candies are made. Returning to the boat to take a 50 minute excursion to Dong Hoa Hiep Island and discover the beautiful and peaceful sceneries together with the typical life of the region a long the Mekong River.
A 10 minute walk through a local village and fruit gardens, you will be able to stop to visit the local family scaled Longan process factory, where you have another opportunity to take photo of and interact with several friendly and hard working local people before coming to an old Mandarin house, built hundred years ago and it is where at least four generations of this family have been living. A so delicious Vietnamese lunch will be served by the owner of the family and you will listen to traditional music, performed by the locals when you are enjoying lunch. One of the highlights after lunch is to walk around the orchard to get to know how the main contribution to the economy of the family is based on. Walking or taking a small rowing Sampan back to the boat for a half an hour cruise on the Dong Hoa Hiep canal back to the pier..The excursion will end around 14:30 pm for a drive back to Saigon. Arrival in Saigon in late afternoon. Diner on your own. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 4 : Saigon - Fly to Hue (B,L)
Imperial-cityAfter breakfast, transfer to Saigon airport for a short flight to the imperial city of Hue. On arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Begin a tour with a Imperial City.
The evening is at leisure. Royal diner with traditional costume at the restaurant. Overnight in Hue.

Day 5 : Discover Hue, the Imperial City (B, L)
In the morning, take a boat ride along the romantic Perfume River. Stop off at the Thien Mu Pagoda on the banks of the river to see the 7-storey Stupa. The pagoda is also home to the old Austin motorcar made famous to Saigon by the Venerable Thich Quang Duc in 1963 for his self-immolation.
perfume-riverContinue on to visit the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang (1791-1841), built between 1841 and 1843 by his successor. The Emperor’s mausoleum complex consists of 40 constructions (palaces, temples, pavilions etc.) designed on a symmetrical axis. Lunch is a special vegetarian meal with the nuns of Dong Thuyen Pagoda. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City, created in the 19th century for the Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty. And continue enjoying with a bicycle or cyclo-pousse riding around the city of Hue before transferring back to the hotel. Overnight in Hue.

Day 6 : Hue - Danang - Hoi An (B,L)
lang-co-beachAfter breakfast at the hotel, visit the mausoleums of the Emperors Tu Duc (1829-1883) and Tu Hieu pagoda. On the way to down to Danang, stop in for a refreshment break at Lang Co beach, one of the World’s most beautiful bays. Continue driving to Danang, known under the French as Tourance succeeded Hoi An as the most improtant port in center Vietnam during the 19th century. From there, you will visit the Cham Museum. Afterwards, head to the World Cultural Heritage Site of Hoi An Ancient Town. Check-in to your hotel. Enjoy some free time on a walking tour through the narrow lanes of the town, lined with century-old buildings and illuminated at night by hundreds of colorful lanterns. Discover the traditional shop-houses and temples, and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 7 : Hoi An - My Son - Hoi An (B,L)
my-son-sanctuaryIn the morning, take a half-day excursion to My Son Sanctuary. My Son is a religious site dating back to the Kingdom of Champa, and also a burial place of Cham royals and national heroes. The My Son temple complex is one of the foremost remaining examples of Hindu influence in South East Asia and is the most prominent heritage site of this nature in Vietnam. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon is at leisure in Hoi An Ancient town.
For something different in option, you can join in a fun cooking class, head to the nearby Cua Dai beach or observe local life on a sunset cruise on the peaceful Thu Bon River. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8 : Hoi An - Danang - Hanoi City Tour (B,L)
hanoi-streetIn the morning, take a short drive to Danang airport for the flight to Hanoi. On arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Renowned as the 'Paris of the East', Hanoi is one of Asia's most fascinating cities. Rich in culture and history, this diverse city draws on its influences from both French and Chinese culture.
Today, we follow this with the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam and the impressive Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. The beautiful West Lake and the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history are also highlight of our trip. We visit these sights before continuing to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 9 : Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)
halong-bayDepart Hanoi in the morning for the scenic three-hour drive through the countryside to Ha Long Bay, a natural wonder with thousands of islands rising out of the water, creating a unique and beautiful landscape. On arrival, embark on the traditional junk for an overnight cruise through the 3,000 limestone islands, many punctuated by caves and grottoes. Savor a delicious Vietnamese buffet lunch during the cruise. Afterward, take a row boat to visit the fishing village. Enjoy a range of fantastic recreation or relaxation activities onboard: a cooking demonstration, traditional massage, swimming, kayaking etc. Finish the day with a sumptuous set-menu dinner. Overnight onboard in Ha Long Bay.

Day 10 : Ha Long Bay - Hanoi (B,L)

The junk arrives at the harbor around 11.00am. We drive back Hanoi with a stop at Dong Trieu ceramic and pottery village. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show with traditional music before dinner. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 11 : Hanoi - Luang Prabang (B,L)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the short flight to Luang Prabang, perhaps the best preserved traditional city in all Southeast Asia. On arrival, you will be met at the airport and transffered to your hotel.
luang-prabangIn the afternoon, visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, picturesque Wat Mai, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roof sweeping low to the ground, and the classic, symbolic architecture of Luang Prabang temples. The impressive Stupa of Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham. Then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded Stupa as well as a superb view over the town and Mekong river. From there, walk through Luang Prabang to visit the lively night market in the streets. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 12 : Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Caves (B, L)
pak-ou-caveBreakfast over we leave Ban PhouLuangTai to walk to Pak Ou Cave, where we climb steps up the limestone cliffs to reach the sacred Buddhist shrine. On the way we will visit the Khamu village of Ban HueyPok and the Tai Dam village of Ban NaSan. You can learn how to do weave by hand before we go onto Ban Pak Ou for lunch.Afterwards about an hour and a half slow boat trip will take us back to with a stop at Ban XangHai. This village is famous for the distillation of Lao traditional rice alcohol just waiting for you to taste it. After our return to the city, we will explore Night Market Street, where you will be able to find lovely handicrafts made by our local people. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 13 : Luang Prabang - Siem Reap (B,L)

In the afternoon, enter the South Gate of Angkor Thom Temple and marvel at the wonders of the eerie Bayon, Phimean Akas, the terrace of Elephants and the terrace of the Leper King. Enjoy the sunset view over Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in hotel, Siem Reap.

Day 14 : Angkor Wat Temples (B,L)
angkor-watIn the morning, visit the famous Angkor Wat, built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. The largest and best-preserved of the Angkor temples, it is also the most well-known world-wide and a source of pride for the Khmer people. Indeed, Angkor Wat has appeared on the Cambodian flag for almost 150 years. After lunch, visit Preah Khan Temple, built in the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII. Then take a half hour journey to Banteay Srey, one of the most unusual of the Angkor temples. The temple lies approximately 20km north of the main group of temples and is constructed from elaborately carved red sandstone. Overnight in hotel, Siem Reap.

Day 15 : Siem Reap (Koh Ker and Beng Mealea) (B,L,D)
koh_kerToday leave Siem Reap town for a full day trip to Koh Ker and Beng Melea. Koh Ker is a former capital of the Khmer Kingdom, pre-dating Angkor, and is home to many spectacular 10th century temples. Continue to the remote Beng Mealea, a temple often missed out by the crowds due to its location and jungle surroundings. However, it offers excellent photo opportunities of tree covered structures and hidden carvings and hallways. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner with an Apsara performance.Overnight in Siem Reap.
