Package Overview

Chandrashila trek is one of the most sought after trek in the Garhwal Himalaya region. Being easier as compared to many others, families take to this trek, except for the months of December and January. This is the period of heavy snowfall that makes trekking very difficult if not completely impossible. The journey which is started either from Haridwar or Dehradun takes trekkers first to Deoria Tal surrounded by forests all around. The pristine waters of the lake catch the shimmering reflection of mighty Chaukhamba and Neelkanth peaks.
After it, comes the Chopta and its meadows on the Gopeshwar – Ukhimath road at 2900 mts height. Being ready for breathtaking views of Himalayas is of no help. Moving ahead on the way, one can visit Tungnath Temple, the highest of all the abodes of Lord Shiva, the Hindu God of Destruction.
Beyond the temple, towards the Chandrashila Summit, the hike is short though rigorous. From that rock, trekkers have the intricate panorama Nature has woven in the most striking view of the Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Peak and Chaukhamba peaks. Appreciating bliss becomes incessant reaction reaching here, at an altitude of 4000 mts.Air fare.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi - Haridwar - Ukhimath (200 kms/7-8 hrs)

  In the morning catch an AC train for Haridwar at 06:50 hrs. Arrival at Haridwar by 11:25 hrs. On arrival meet our guide and then transfer to Ukhimath via Rishikesh, Devprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi, from Devprayag the Holy river Ganges start), Rudraprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini River). Breakfast and lunch en-route. Arrival at Ukhimath by evening. Check into TRH. Dinner and overnight stay.

• Day 2 : Ukhimath - Deoria Tal (2438 mts/7998 ft)

  In the morning you can see snow-capped Himalayan ranges. After breakfast start your trek to Deoria Tal through dense forest of Rhododendron and lots of wild flowers and ferns. The trek will take 3-4 hrs to reach Deoria Tal. Upon arrival at Deoria Tal set out the tents for overnight stay.
• Day 3 : Deoria Tal - Sari - Chopta

  In the morning trek down to Sari village (3 kms) and from there ride on bike towards Chopta; one of the finest meadow in Garhwal Himalaya through dense forest and meadows. Its 30 kms ride from Sari Village. Upon arrival at Chopta set out your tents for overnight stay. In the evening explore the magnificent view of the Himalayas.
• Day 4 : Chopta - Tungnath (3680 ft/12070 ft) - Chandrashila (4090 mts/13415 ft) - Chopta

  After an early breakfast trek to Tungnath with packed lunch. Tungnath is situated at the height of 3680 mts from the sea level. The trek is 3 kms upward. En-route you will find lush green meadows and you can see the entire range of snow-capped Himalayas. Upon arrival at Tungnath, visit the temple. After relax one further 1 km trek to Chandrashila peak. Later trek back to Chopta for dinner and overnight stay.
• Day 5 : Chopta - Chandrapuri - Rishikesh

  In the morning after breakfast, start riding towards Chandrapuri. Today’s drive is totally downhill. From Chandrapuri we will drive by car to our riverside camp at Rishikesh. On arrival, check in to camp for overnight stay.
• Day 6 : Rishikesh River Rafting - Departure to Delhi

  After breakfast, get ready for white water river rafting on river Ganges. From Camp to Rishikesh is 16 kms rafting and one can hit rapids like Golf Course, Roller Coaster, Black Money, etc. After rafting, drive back to camp for hot lunch. Later after lunch, ride your bike till Rishikesh and from there drive to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar, transfer to railway station and catch an AC train for Delhi at 18:05 hrs. Arrival at Delhi by 22:45 hrs.

• Train: AC Train from Delhi – Haridwar & back.
• Accommodation: Tourist Rest House/Guest House in Ukhimath with bed and breakfast. While on the Trek/Rafting, accommodation will be provided in tents. Our tents are 4 season dome tents with lots of space for personal luggage. We will be putting up a dining tent and a toilet tent to make your camping comfortable.
• Meals: In Ukhimath, only breakfast will be served. While on trek, all meals will be provided. The food would be a mix of Indian, Chinese & Continental. All meals will be provided at River Rafting Camp in Rishikesh.
• Professional and experienced local guide who knows the area very well.
• Cook and Porters to carry camping equipment, ration and some amount of client’s personal gear (not more than 12 kgs).
• All necessary permits and camping fee.
• River rafting at Rishikesh with experienced guide.
