Tilicho is a lake located in the Manang district of Nepal. Situated at an altitude of 4,919 meters(16,138 ft.) in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. It is sometimes called as the highest lake for its size in the world. Even though there are lakes at higher altitude even in Nepal. Tilicho Lake trek defined as one of the finest trekking routes in this Annapurna Region. The trek displays scenic view of the eastern side of the epic world-famous Annapurna Circuit. With sublime natural beauty, cultural and traditional values. The stunning waterfalls and running clean water streams, with attractive floras and faunas.

The trip to Tilicho Lake is a perfect package to witness natural scenery in this region. The best season for a journey to this region is February to May and September to November. As said to be the highest in the world and crossing Thorung La at 5,416m. It presents a wonderful challenge trek which is a real test more for the mind than the body.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m), transfer to hotel, welcome dinner

  On your arrival in Kathmandu airport, a representative from trekking mart welcomes you. The representative will go with you to drop you to your Hotel. Rest of the time you can use as per your interest. At the evening we meet for our welcome dinner where you can enjoy authentic Nepali cuisine.

• Day 2 : Kathmandu City Tour

  After breakfast, we'll be sightseeing several secret sites of Kathmandu. A professional city guide will guide you through the journey. The sightseeing covers some incredible historical world heritage sites as Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath. These sites clarify the religious and cultural diversity and integrity of the country.

• Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Timang Village: 7 - 8 hours drive

  Early Breakfast and drive-by 4X4 jeep to Timang Village. This drive takes around 4 - 5 hours is paved road and then another 4 hours in the bumpy road which includes interesting scenery of villages, mountains, rivers, flora and fauna on the side. We will serve lunch in the midway at a restaurant. Overnight at Timang.

• Day 4 : Timang to Chame (2,710m): 3-4 hours trek

  Today we walk through a few forested ridges on our way to Chame, which is the headquarters of the Manang District. Throughout the trek, we admire amazing views of the Himalayas including Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m/24,688ft). On today’s trek, we also come across small hot springs where we can dip in and soothe our aching muscles. Overnight at Chame.

• Day 5 : Trek from Chame to Pisang: 5-6 hours walk

  Early morning after breakfast, we will start our trek towards Pisang. A walk through a steep valley takes you to witness the beautiful Mt. Annapurna II and the Pisang Peak, you will descend to the floor of Manang Valley-Pisang. After reaching Pisang you can take some rest and explore the valley and stay overnight at Pisang.

• Day 6 : Trek from Pisang to Manang: 5-6 hours walk

  Early morning you will trek towards Manang through Gheru. Making through Pisang, witnessing the amazing views of Mt. Annapurna and Pisang peak, you will head towards Manang. The Manang valley is one of the attractive places you might love to visit is the Barge Monastery, which is the largest in Manang. Overnight at Manang.

• Day 7 : Acclimatization day in Manang

  After breakfast, we will explore around Manang. We will go to Ice Lake (4600m) for the excursion. It will take 5-6 hours back and forth. You will enjoy the trail and can view amazing mountains during the walk. Also, we have the opportunity to see higher Marsyangdhi valley. Overnight at Manang.

• Day 8 : Trek from Manang to Khangsar: 3-4 hours walk

  Today heading towards Khangsar village. It takes about 3-4 hours walk from Manang to reach Khangsar. Witnessing the Annapurna range, the trail make through several beautiful villages, Tore monastery and Khangsar River. After reaching Khangsar you can look around the valley or take some rest. This village is an old-styled Tibetan influenced village and is also known as olden type villages of Nepal. Overnight at Khangsar.

• Day 9 : Trek from Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp: 5-6 hours walk

  In the morning, past the trail, the grassy lands, witnessing the amazing views of a whole valley. A sharp descend down brings you to the Tilicho base camp. It takes about 5-6 hours from Khangsar. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.

• Day 10 : Trek to Tilicho Lake: 6-7 hours walk

  In the morning, we will visit Tilicho Lake which is at an altitude of 4,919 meters in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. Tilicho Lake is a cold place and is recorded as the lake at the highest altitude in the world. After spending some joyful moments at Tilicho Lake, we will descend down to Tilicho base camp. Stay overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.

• Day 11 : Trek from Tilicho base camp to Yak Kharka- 5 hours walk

  The trail follows this valley north, passing the large trees below, keep high and follow a track 400 meters or so above Khangsar village passing through the ruins of old Khangsar and follow an unmarked trail which will lead you around and down to cross the river on an old log bridge between Gunsang and Yak Kharka. It’s fun to see large yaks grazing at Yak Kharka. Overnight at Yak Kharka.

• Day 12 : Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m) - 5 hours walk

  Leaving Yak Kharka, you climb gradually to a ridge before descending to the headwaters of the Marshyangdi and crossing via a covered wooden bridge. After a short ascent up the mountain path on the right bank, you follow a narrow trail across an unstable spree slope and then descend to Thorong Phedi. Stay overnight at lodge.

• Day 13 : Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La pass 8 hours walk

  Thorong La is the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit. Early in the morning; you will ascend uphill on the moraine and rocky trail to the top of the pass. The top offers amazing views of mountains, valleys, and beautiful scenery. After spending some time there you will head towards Muktinath. Stay overnight at Muktinath.

• Day 14 : Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom: 4-5 hours walk

  Early morning we will visit Muktinath, it is a popular Vishnu temple. It is an important place for Buddhist and Hindus. The trail then takes you to the Kagbeni Village, where you can find lots of memorial stupas. It takes 5-6 hours from Muktinath to reach Jomsom. Stay overnight at Jomsom.

• Day 15 : Flight to Pokhara

  After breakfast in the morning, you will fly back to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara, our representative would take you to your hotel. Later on, you can look around the beautiful city of Pokhara and can do some shopping for you and your loved ones. Overnight at Pokhara.

• Day 16 : Flight to Kathmandu

  While coming back to Kathmandu by air, you can see the beautiful Himalayas and mountains. Such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Himal Chuli, Manasalu, Ganesh II, Ganesh V, Langtang, etc. After reaching Kathmandu you can roam around the colorful Thamel beautiful city for shopping. Overnight at Kathmandu.

• Day 17 : Final Departure
