Day 1 : Arrival in Jordan
Meet and assist on arrival at King Hussein International Airport, Aqaba. Transfer to hotel in Aqaba.
Day 2 : Wadi Rum
Transfer to Wadi Rum village to meet with guide and support team. Then head out into the desert to Rakabat Canyon to cross through the massif of Jabal Umm Ishrin. Then continue by jeep to the Barragh Canyon, passing on the way the sand dunes in Um Ishrin, some Nabatean inscriptions and “Lawrence of Arabia’s house”. In the afternoon cross from the Canyon to Rad el Beidha. At the end of the canyon the support jeep will drive you to Jabal Burdah where we shall see the famous bridge. Camp near Burdah
Day 3 : Burdha Bridge
After breakfast scramble up to the famous Burdha bridge. It will take about 1 1/2 hours to reach the bridge If you want to continue to the top of the mountain, it will take an extra hour. After lunch, continue by jeep to Khazali Canyon to see some Nabatean and Thamudic inscriptions. Camp near Khazali.
Day 4 : Sabbagh’s Road to Khazali.
Climb to the summit of Jabal Khazali and eat lunch on the summit, admire the amazing views and look out for the wildlife as it is the home of the ibex. There are still some around, even though Jabal Khazali is close to Rum Village. Scramble down for sunset and dinner in the same camp.
Day 5 : Jabal Umm Adaami
Drive south to Jabal Umm Adaami, the highest mountain in Jordan, a straightforward climb on the south east side and back down the other side. Have lunch then continue by jeep towards the Saudi border for another short uphill hike. Camp in the valley
Day 6 : No Man’s Land
Some serious scrambling on the mountain crest with great views to the north and the south. Have lunch in a valley among the red sand dunes then continue along another crest with yet more views and arrive in the night’s camp for dinner.
Day 7 : Jabal Rum
Some more serious scrambling (bordering on climbing) and abseiling. The easiest (which is still pretty difficult!) and shortest is the Thamudic route, will take most people about 8 hours up and down. Usually abseil down by Hammad’s route into Wadi Shelaala, but this does entail an abseil of some 45 m, if you prefer you return by the same way you climbed up.
Day 8 : Jabal umm Ishrin
East to west traverse. Take the Assaoud Road up, and come down again by the Hadjaj Road. In the afternoon we return to Rum Village, and transfer to hotel in Aqaba for overnight.
Day 9 : Aqaba
A free day in Aqaba for much needed rest and relaxation by the sea
Day 10 : Departure from Jordan
Transfer to Aqaba airport for departure
