This Challenging Trek focuses mainly on life of Nomadic People, Monasteries, Wildlife and some high altitude Lakes of Changthang. The Trek starts Miru village in Eastern part of Ladakh and ends at Tsomoriri Lake, a beautiful High altitude lake in Changthang, which is also the breeding ground to birds like the Bar-necked geese and the Brahminy duck. The barren region is home to numerous species of wildlife including the wild Ass Kiang, Himalayan Marmot, Tibetan Antelope, and Himalayan Ibex. The route traverses across a number of high passes and while the scenery is spectacular the entire route is through vast wilderness and high altitude which requires good acclimatization. Initially in this trek route you will have glimpse of Markha valley, when we trek through the Kongmarula ,The high Kongmaru La offers stunning views of the Kang Yatze peaks and pasture land of Nimaling, where the people of Markha valley stays for summer with live stock for grazing.

Day 2 : Leh (full Day Monasteries & Palaces Tour) 112kms

Day 3 : Leh - Lower Indus Valley –lamayuru (3510m) 152kms
After Breakfast Drive to Lamayuru Enroute Visit Likir, also Known as Lu-khyil Gompa, the Likir Monastery Was Ordered to Built By the 5th King of Ladakh Lhachen Gyalpo and Was Thus Founded By Lama Duwang Chosje in 1065. the Monastery is of the Gelugpa Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, Visit Alchi Temple Renowned as the Oldest Buddhist Learning Centre, the Alchi Gompa is One of the Magnificently Built Monasteries in Ladakh. Located 70 Kilometres West of Leh On the Banks of the Indus River, It is also the Largest and Most Famous of the Gompas Built By Tibetan Translator Rinchen Zangpo in 11th Century, Continue Drive to Visit the Mesmerizing Moon Landscapes and the Lamayuru Monastery Renowned as Tharpa Ling Which Means the ‘place of Freedom’; Lamayuru Monastery is One of the Oldest Monasteries in Ladakh. Day 4 : Lamayuru-Leh (3501) 130kms
After the Breakfast Drive to Leh, Visit Rizong, According to Popular Belief, Guru Padmasambhava Along with other Lamas Used to Meditate in the Caves Around Rizong in Isolation, Surviving On Two Times Meal a Day and Avoiding Any Contact with the Outside World. Before Building the Monastery in 1831, Lama Tsultim Nima Started a Hermitage At the Site to Teach Monks About Buddhism, Visit a Nunnery, Known as Chulichan (chomoling), is Under the Cover of the Monastery, Where 20 Nuns or the Chomos Reside and Worship At the Temples of the Monastery, Perform Chores like Milking, Spinning Wool and Getting Oil for the Temple Lamps. Our Trek Starts with the Path Taken By the Shepherds to Reach the Summer Pastures. a Gradual Climb, Leads You to the Small Pass (4050 M) that Leads to the Top of the Achi Valley. We Continue Our Journey By a Path Flank. a Last Climb Allows You to Reach Our First Camp. O/n Camp
Day 6 : Miru Pullu - Sktichen La (4651m) - Sktichen (4000m) 5hrs
Elevation gain +450m/elevation loss -650
Morning ascent of the valley towards Skitchen La (4651m). The trail is relatively easy and the gradual climb allows a good acclimatization. By crossing the pass, the landscape becomes more colorful with red, ocher, green reliefs. A long descent, following the course of the stream, leads us to the hamlet of Skitchen, out of the classical tourist circuits. O/N CAMP
Day 7 : Skitchen Dogsa- Chokdou - Kongmaru La Base Camp (4501m) 4 or 5hrs

you Continue Our Descent to the Valley of Shang. Arriving Near the Hamlet of Chokdou, We Turn Left to Go Up the Valley of Shang. the Multicolored Rocks, Often Red-ocher, Overlooking the Valley are a Real Spectacle that “occupies” Us Throughout the Day … First River Crossing Fording. We Reach the Kongmaru La Base Camp that You Will Cross Next Day. O/n Camp.
Day 8 : Kongmaru La Base Camp - Kongmaru La (5150m) - Nimaling (4702m) 5hrs
Elevation Gain +650m/elevation Loss – 350m.
from the Camp, a Steep Climb to Kongmaru La (5150m). At the Pass, We Enjoy a Superb View of the Peaks of Kangyatze (6195 M and 6400 M) and the Valley of the Indus. Descent to the High Plateau of Nimaling (4700 M) Dominated By Snow-capped Peaks. the Shepherds of the Markha Valley Settle There During the Summer with Their Cattle. O/n Camp.
Day 9 : Nimaling-Thachungtse (4200m) 3hrs
Elevation Gain +150m/elevation Loss -650m.
you Take the Time to Enjoy the Beautiful Plateau of Nimaling Before Joining, Further Down, Thachungtse, Hamlet of Summer Pasture. Before Your Descent, You Hike On the High Plateau of Nimaling to Admire the Summit of Kangyatse and the Colorful Landscapes of the Surrounding Mountains. O/n Camp.
Day 10 : Thachungtse – Base Camp Zalung Karpo (4702m) 6hrs

last Steps in the Markha Valley, We Cross the River to Enter the Valley Behind the Kangyatse Massif. Hike in a Pleasant Valley Where You Will, Several Times, Cross the River Fording. O/n Camp.
Day 11 : Base Camp-Zalung Karpo - Zalungkarpo La (5100m) - Sorra (4200m) 6 Or 7hrs
Elevation gain +400m/elevation loss -900m.
Gradual but relatively long climb to reach the Zalungkarpo Pass (5100m). From the pass, beautiful panorama of the mountain ranges of Zanskar, Kangyatse and Changthang. We enter the Kharnak region (the black fort). Steep descent in the Sorra Chu valley. Last efforts to reach the camp of Sorra. Like the previous days, some river crossings by wading. O/N CAMP
Day 12 : Sorra-Dat (4350m) - Tsomoriri (4500m) 2hrs Trek & 90kms Drive
Elevation gain +250m/elevation loss -100m
you continue down the valley along the river Sorra. We reach an astonishingly narrow gorge with impressive cliffs. you continue in the beautiful wooded valley of Dat. After two hours of pleasant walk, we arrive at the village of Dat, one of the few villages in the region with nomads. From Dat, vehicle will transfer to Tsomoriri, first passing by Tsokar. For bird lovers, black cranes and Brahmin ducks regularly stay there. We continue our route through the pass of Puga La then the village of Tibetan refugees before branching, right, to pass a new pass. Finally, after passing the small lake of Yaratso, we reach the majestic Tso Moriri. Depending on the brightness and cloud. O/N CAMP
Day 13 : Tsomoriri (4500m)
In the morning visit Korzok monastery (found in 1861 by Lama Kunga Lodos Nyingbo) village with its houses and its gompa appearing like a “Mirage”. The few barley fields at Korzok must be among the highest cultivation in the world and today you will visit the Korzok monastery and this is the village where nomad people has concrete house, explore the village and walk around the lake or Possibility of a walk on the heights to embrace the landscape and increase the chances of seeing wildlife. Back to camp. O/N camp
Day 14 : Tsomoriri-leh (3501) 230kms
The Road Goes to Kyagar Pass Before Driving Into the Indus Gorge. from Mahe , Multicolored Rocks Over Hang Us Over 1000 Meters, also On the Way Visit Chumathang Hot Sulphur Springs We Find the Plain of Leh At the Level of Upshi. O/n Hotel
Day 15 : Leh
Free Day for Personal Activities. O/n Hotel
Day 16 : Leh-Delhi
Early morning transfer to Leh airport to board flight back to destination. Tour ends with sweets memories.
For the more adventurous a drive to either Manali or Srinagar can also be arranged on request. The road journey is covered in two or more days with an overnight halt at either Sarchu or Jispa, which lies on the Leh-Manali highway, or Kargil, which lies on the Leh-Srinagar highway.
