Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Safari Tour

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Travel to Lake Bunyonyi.

  Immediately after your breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will meet a tour guide from AA safaris and tours who will brief you about the long trip that you will be about to start before you start on your Kabale. You will have your lunch from Mbarara and dinner at the lodge of your choice.

• Day 2 : Transfer to Rwanda - Volcanoes

  You will be picked up by your guide after your breakfast and drive to Rwanda, you be crossing the boarder, clear visas at the border. It is therefore very important for you to check with your Rwanda embassy so that you get a confirmation letter of your Rwanda visa to avoid being inconvenienced at the boarder. You will have a lunch en route but your dinner will be at;

  Moderate; GORILLA NEST LODGE /Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
  
  Up market; Volcanoes Lodge / Sabyinyo Silver back lodge .

• Day 3 : Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

  After break fast, you will be transferred to the park Headquarters for registration and briefing by the ranger before you start tracking. Gorilla tracking may take some hours therefore you have got to be fit for the tracking and once you meet the gorillas, you will have just one hours to spend with them, you may sit in the jungle with them as you watch the way they look after their young ones, play around which will give you the best memories. You will return to the lodge for dinner and sleep as you will have to carry your lunch boxes with you in the morning. .

• Day 4 : Transfer to Bwindi Forest

  After your breakfast, you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in Uganda. This is an ancient equatorial forest and has the highest number of mountain gorillas in Uganda; it has over 90 mammal species among which are 11 primates’ species like the prominent black and white colobus. Lunch will be an en route one but dinner will be at your lodge;

• Day 5 : Gorilla Tracking

  Immediately after your breakfast, you will go straight to the park headquarters for briefing and then go for gorilla tracking. This is also the starting point of gorilla trekking which might take you 2-7 hours before you can see any gorilla but an encounter with them will be an amazing experience. Your dinner and over night will be back at your lodge.

• Day 6 : Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  Early in the morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park with your packed lunch. You will go through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth which is famous for the tree climbing lions which will also give you a memorable experience. Dinner and overnight at

  Luxury; Mweya safari lodge / Jacana safari lodge/ Kyambura Game lodge

• Day 7 : The Game Drive and Launch Cruise

  Wake up early in the mornings and take cup of tea or coffee. Go for a game drive along Kasenyi track to search for Buffaloes, Elephants, and Warthogs, the elusive leopard, hyenas and Lion. The search may take 3-4 hours. you will go back for mid morning breakfast at your lodge and then after your lunch , you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel from where you can be sure of seeing a huge number of hippos and lots of bird species like about 550 species for those who love watching birds. Dinner and overnight will be back at your lodge.

• Day 8 : Transfer to Kibale National Park Chimp Tracking

  Take your breakfast and proceed to Kibale national park for Chimpanzee tracking. Kibale has the highest number of Chimpanzees. You will have lunch before preceding to Kanyankyu for the trek the gorillas in the after noon. Dinner and overnight at

• Day 9 : Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

  After breakfast, you will head to Murchison falls National Park passing via Hoima. you will stop at the top of the falls to have to clear view of the falls ad see as the Nile follows down, forcing its way through. You will sleep and have dinner at either,

  Moderate – Sambiya River Lodge
  
  Luxury: Paraa Lodge or Nile safari Camp

• Day 10 : The Game Drive and Launch Cruise

  Wake up early morning for a cup of coffee or tea then set off for a 3-4 hours game drive on the northern Bank of the Nile River. . Expect encounters of Game in this park that include Rothschild Giraffe, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Water bucks and a variety of Savannah woodland birds. Return to your lodge. Have a mid morning breakfast and relax as you wait for lunch. IN the afternoon, you will go for your reserved private boat ride along the Nile to view aqua game and avian species at close proximity. This is a unique encounter with a family of hippos, crocodiles, among other animals. For those interested in birds, watch out for the legendary shoe Bill stork if you are lucky and many other bird species. Then take dinner and overnight at your lodge.

• Day 11 : Return to Kampala

  After breakfast you will start on your journey back to Kampala but you may visit the Ziwa rhino sanctuary if you wish but will have to pay extra fee for that.
