Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri * Onto Kalimpong (79 kms / approx. 3 hour drive)

  Welcome to your 'Northeast ' tour! On arrival at the Airport in Bagdogra / Railway station in New Jalpaiguri, you will be transferred to Kalimpong for your stay. Note: On arrival at NJP, our representative will be holding a placard near the main gate (Please note at NJP Station there are 02 Exit gates for passengers and clients are requested to come near the main exit gate).
  
  The rest of the evening is at leisure.
  
  Overnight in Kalimpong - None (Meals on your own)

• Day 2 : Onto Gangtok (85 kms / approx. 3 hour drive)

  This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kalimpong. Later in the afternoon proceed on a picturesque drive to Gangtok where on arrival you will check in to your hotel.

  Overnight in Gangtok.

  This morning, proceed on a city tour visiting Do Drul Chorten, the Enchey Monastery having sacred gold-topped shikhara with 108 prayer wheels and the marvellous collection of orchids in the Orchid Sanctuary, which has more than 200 varieties of orchids (which bloom in April - May). Situated near the orchid sanctuary, one can see young lamas working, learning and worshiping at Chorten. Later, proceed to Enchey Ancient Monastery, which is more than 200 years old and provides the best views of the mountain range of Kanchenjunga.
  
  The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore and enjoy the Traditional Music Show and Cultural Activities on your own.

• Day 4 : Gangtok

  Early in the morning, depart for a half-day excursion to Tshangu Lake. With an average depth of 50 ft. the cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. The lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Enjoy a Yak ride around this lake on your own.
  
  Note: One has to obtain a permit directly in Gangtok to visit Tshangu Lake.
  
  The rest of the day is at leisure. Why not indulge in some shopping at local shops for Tibetan items which include lovely idols of Lord Buddha, silver jewellery, tribal handicrafts, trinkets , silk robes, aromatic spices etc on your own.

• Day 5 : On to Pelling (117 kms / approx. 4 hour drive)

  This morning, proceed on drive to Pelling , en route visiting the Rumtek Monastery. Rumtek monastery exhibits Tibetan monastic art in Sikkim known for its unique traditional architecture, beautifully carved and painted woodwork and splendid murals. Arrive into Pelling, where you will check-in to your hotel.
  
  The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.

• Day 6 : Pelling

  Today, you will proceed on a half day sightseeing tour including a visit to the Khecheopalri Lake. Also known as the wishing lake, this unusual tranquil. The lake is surrounded by blooming forest and is considered as one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim both by the Buddhist and the Hindus. Hence, no water sport or other activities besides prayers are allowed around the lake.

  Overnight in Pelling.

• Day 7 : On to Darjeeling (75 kms / approx. 2 1/2 hour drive)

  This morning, you will visit the Pelling Monastery following which you will drive to the Victorian hill station of Darjeeling. On arrival you will check-in to your hotel.
  
  The rest of the day is at leisure for shopping or exploring the hill station on your own.

• Day 8 : Darjeeling

  Early morning, tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). Passing through primitive forests of Oak, Magnolia etc. with beautiful ferns ablaze with colour, adorning the hill-sides is the steeply ascending road to Senchal , running through Ghoom on its way to Tiger Hill , 11 kms from the town and at an elevation of 2,590m (8482 ft). The warm glow and the brilliant hues that the rising sun casts over the entire setting is a treat for the eyes. On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery, and other places of interest.
  
  The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the local markets on your own lined with Tibetans selling hand-knitted sweaters and souvenir shops chock-full of Himalayan artifacts and both real and imitation antiques.
  
  Overnight in Darjeeling.

• Day 9 : Depart Darjeeling * Onto Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri (94 kms / approx. 3 hour drive)

  Today, bid farewell to 'Northeast - Diwali Special' tour, as you are transferred to the Airport in Bagdogra / Railway station in New Jalpaiguri for your onward journey.
