Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Vientiane - Arrival

  Vientiane (The City Of The Moon) is the largest city in Laos and its capital. The beautiful ancient city sits on the left bank of the Mekong River. Our Laos tour guide will meet you on your arrival and escort you to your hotel. After check in we will take a short sightseeing trip of Vientiane, taking in some of the local favourites. The Religious Museum housed in the temple at Wat Sisaket, predates the Siamese war of 1828. It features the famous cloister, the wall of which features 6,840 ceramic and silver statues of the Buddha. Wat Ho Prakeo is the former home of the Emerald Buddha but today it contains a collection of Buddha statues and antiquities. Pha That Luang, The Great Stupa, is a symbol of the Laos Nation. It is the single most important monument in the country. It was built to cover an original small Stupa which holds a section of the breastbone of Buddha. Patouxy (The Triumphal Arch) was built between 1957 and 1968 and commemorates the dead of past conflicts. It has become one of the most famous landmarks of the city of Vientiane. Your Laos Tour then returns to your hotel to relax.

• Day 2 : Vientiane – Xiengkhuoang

  Breakfast will be served at the hotel and your morning remains free before your brief afternoon flight Xiengkhouang. After transfer from the airport we will visit the Plain of Jars. This has been nominated as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is the most bombed site per head of capita in the world. It is where the US armed forces jettisoned unused ordinance after bombing raids. We will also visit the old capital of Muang Khoun Province and the nearby villages. These are home to the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people. Your Laos Holiday package then stops over night in Xiengkhouang

• Day 3 : Xiengkhuoang – Luang Prabang

  In the early morning we will travel to the nearby town of Phonsavanh. This is where we will visit the central market where the hill tribes barter and exchange their goods. From here we head out to Luang Prabang (306Km - 6/7 hours drive) On the way we will visit the 200 year old Buddha images in Thampra. Then our Laos tour package visits the different hill tribe villages along the route. The villagers always provide a friendly welcome and good photo opportunities. We will travel through the glorious mountain and forest scenery and then we will arrive at Sala Phou-khoun. Here we will take a short coffee break. The journey then takes us over mountainous regions to Luang Prabang. The tranquillity and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. Our Laos tour party will be stopping here for the day. After checking into your hotel, [if time permits] we will visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun , the shrine of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. From there, we explore the Street Night Bazaar. Here you will find many souvenirs and superb textiles. These are handmade by local and hill tribe people from the surrounding areas. Your Laos vacation then remains overnight in Luang Prabang

• Day 4 : Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave

  We will have breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards we will take a cruise upstream on The Mekong River. This provides a different perspective to the wonderful surrounding countryside. From here we will visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Which are crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Later we will stop off at the village of Ban Xanghai. Which is famous for its local rice wine. On the return journey we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong village. Here the local people specialise in hand weaving and dyeing exquisite silk fabrics. Your Laos tour then stays overnight in Luang Prabang.

• Day 5 : Luang Prabang – Kuang Sii Fall

  We will take breakfast at the hotel. Then we will travel 30 Km out of town to the beautiful Kuang Sii waterfall where you can relax, swim or take a short stroll up to the top of the falls. On the return journey we make a short visit to the Black Hmong village. This ancient people originate from the mountainous regions of China, Vietnam, Thailand and of course Laos. We then return to the hotel to relax. We’ll stay overnight in Luang Prabang.

• Day 6 : Departure

  In the morning you have free time at your hotel until your private car arrives for transfer to the airport. We wish you a safe journey
