Day 1 : “Mother Theresa” AIRPORT - VLORA
Arrival at Mother Teresa Airport and depart to coastal town of Vlora and check-in at the hotel. Vlora is the point where the Adriatic Sea meets the Ionian, depending on your arrival time you may have some time to explore on your own today. Overnight in Standard Hotel
Day 2 : VLORA - LLOGARA NATIONAL PARK - KARABURUNI PENINSULA
After breakfast we will have a short time in the centre of Vlora to see the Monument of Independent and Muradi Mosque before driving towards the waters of the Adriatic, and the landscapes of Llogara National Park. We then take a walk through the forest, along a trail that starts just beside our hotel. Following a well trodden path we climb to the Qafa e Thelle (Deep Pass), negotiating our way through dense pine forests towards the wild beauty of the Karaburuni Peninsula. In the afternoon there is the opportunity of an additional short walk to Caesar’s Pass before returning to the hotel for the evening. Overnight ,Standard Hotel
Day 3 : VLORA - HIKE TO DHJOPURI PASS, AFTERNOON VISIT TO DHERMI VILLAGE
Following a short drive to the Llogara Pass we begin our morning’s walk up to the Dhjopuri Pass, a 600m ascent that provides us with some great views of the mountains and the coast. At the end of the hike we meet up with our bus to drive on to the village of Dhermi, nestling among the rocky slopes of the Ceraunian Mountains. Taking in its lovely old houses and orthodox churches, we then head to the beach for the afternoon, before making our way back to the hotel later this evening. Overnight Standard Hotel
Day 4 : DRIVE TO TIRANA, AFTERNOON HIKE TO PELLUMBAS CAVE
Today we head for Tirana, the capital city of Albania. En route we will stop for a short visit at the Monastery of Ardenica. Often referred to as ‘The Castle of Myzeqe’, it is an orthodox site, and the only inhabited monastery in Albania. It is believed that its beginnings date back to about the 10th Century and that Skanderbeg, the Albanian national hero was married at the St. Triadha Church, in May of 1451. This afternoon we then hike up to the Black Cave of Pellumbas, a four hour walk that takes us to a large cave (used also as a prehistoric settlement) lying in the rural hills above Tirana. Day 5 : DRIVE TO MACEDONIA (Ohrid)
Arrival on in Macedonia and meeting with the local tour guide near the St. Naum monastery of Kafasan (depending from where they will arrive). Short stop and visit of the monastic complex St. Naum (IX century) and the springs of the river Crn Drim (half an hour walking around the springs to enjoy the beautiful nature) .Arrival in Ohrid and accommodation of the guests. Possibility of individually exploring the area near the hotels. There is a promenade which continues away from the city`s center and follows the beautiful beaches nearby. In the proximity you can see the former Tito`s villa called Biljana, once used by the Yugoslavian president and nowadays by the president of Republic of Macedonia. This section is used by the locals for recreation and physical activities throughout the year. Also the old town, located on the hill above the city, offers nice possibility to trek/hike and in the same time visit some cultural and historical sites. Overnight.
Day 6 : ST. NAUM MONASTIC COMPLEX & NATIONAL PARK GALICICA
Driving by the lake with panoramic views of the mountains and villages and into the National Park Galicica. The park was established in 1958 and stretches on a surface of 227 square km. Beautiful views across the lakes and neighboring mountains can be seen from its peaks. The highest peak is Magaro (2,254 m above sea level). The floral life in the national park is represented by over 1000 species, of which a large number of relics and endemics, many of which having their final frontier of distribution exactly on this mountain. There is a presence of up to 11 local endemites to be found exclusively on the slopes of Galicica and nowhere else. Return back to Ohrid and free time. Overnight.
Day 7 : VEVCANI VILLAGE AND SPRINGS & THE MOUNT JABLANICA
We drive to Vevacani (28 km from Ohrid). Visit of a traditional mountain village – Vevcani. Walking up to the springs, located above the village. The setting is breathtaking. The capacity of the springs varies between 400 – 4000 l/second. Hiking above the village into the mountain Jablanica. There is a lot of national restaurants in the village ready to host you with the traditional Macedonian food and warmth which is typical for this part of the Balkans.
Day 8 : KURATICA VILLAGE WITH DONKEY SAFARY
Check out from the hotel and drive 20 km north to the mountain village Kuratica. We will be introduced to the local way of living and their customs. After the short introduction we go donkey back riding above the village and after that a small typical village lunch in old village house. We depart towards Albania. Arrival in Durres and overnight.
Day 9 : TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT “MOTHER TERESA”. End of our service
