6 pm board on Rocket Steamer headed to Barisal. Start cruising by 6:30 pm by an hour, ship will join the main stream of the mighty river Meghna, Padma (Ganges). You will leave the city lights gradually, winds are blowing strongly and the ship itself is dancing gently by the rhythm of waves. Dinner & overnight stay on board (Steamer).
Early in the morning our local guide will meet you at the steamer by 5:30 am. Steamer will start it day cruise (4 hrs.) by 6 am towards Hularhat river front, immediately transfer to Bagerhat & visit Sixty Domed Mosque (Shat Gumbad Mosque). The site is situated at 9 Km west of Bagerhat town and has been enlisted of World Cultural Heritage under the title “Historic Mosque City of Bagerhat”. The city was found by a saint warrior, Khan-E-Jahsn Ulugh Khan, in the 15th century ACE. At present it is dotted with several mounds, mosques, reservoirs & tombs. Among these the most illustrious is Shat Gumbad Mosque, being the biggest older multi-domed mosque of Bangladesh. There is a museum in the site compound.
Will return to Hularhat by 1:45 pm & board on the Paddle steamer to enjoy your lunch on board. Will start cruise to Barisal by 2:15 pm and enjoy the natural beauty of the rivers and colorful activities of the fishermen, fishing boats, villagers living by the river. In the evening will arrive at Barisal & disembark the steamer. Transfer to your designated hotel by riding on a traditional tricycle. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight stay at hotel in Barisal.
Early morning transfer (1½ hrs.) to Banaripara river front. Will board on a reserve country boat to enjoy a full day cruise through small rivers/canals. Enjoy tea with cookies & fruits on the boat. You may also enjoy having local lunch with a host family in the village.
Start cruising with floating rice market at the starting point then proceed to Swarupkathi, the river port & a hub for Forest woods and Nipa Palm Leaves from the Sunderbans. En-route visit most exciting floating vegetable garden, where farmers are growing vegetables on the floating beds on the canal & selling their products to the merchant buyers by small wooden boats at Baithakhali famous for floating vegetable market at Najirpur in Pirojpur district.
It is really a unique experience while you will overview the vegetation on the bank of the narrow canals & the rural villages. Enjoy many interesting activities of the locals based on the rivers & canals. Will explore a local market where you will find many small boats full with seasonal fruits like Guava, Lemon, Hog-Palm and others are selling by the farmers to the merchant buyers with big boats in this market.
Return to Barisal in the evening, en-route visit Durga Sagar (Big pond) & Guthia Mosque, the biggest mosque of southern part of Bangladesh. Dinner at local restaurant & board on the Steamer to Dhaka.
