Day 1 : ARRIVAL PARO
Your experience commences the moment your flight land in Paro International Airport, the only International Airport in Bhutan. Once you have clear the custom and immigration procedure, you will be warmly received by an English speaking Bhutanese tour guide. We will start your journey visiting Paro Dzong. The monument was built in 1646 AD. It is a large Drukpa Kagyu Bhuddist Monastery and house the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro. After Lunch, proceed to Phunakha, the old Capital of Bhutan. Punakha is 4 hours and 30 minutes away from Paro which the drive will pass by Thimphu the Mordern Capital of Bhutan and Dochu La Pass (Alt. 3050m) where you can enjoy the first view of the eastern Himalayan Mountains. Overnight Stay
Day 2 : PUNAKHA - THIMPHU
This morning, we will visit the Punakha Dzong which lies between two rivers known as Phochu and Mochu, symbolizing the masculine and the feminine co-existence, their currents are of different colours and two rivers unit at this spot. Enroute visit Chimi Lhakhang in Lobesa, a temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley, who as the famous saint of the Bhutanese people is known as the “Divine Mad Monk”. After Lunch, proceed back to Thimphu, the Modern Capital of Bhutan which is 3 hours away from Punakha. Entering Thimphu, visit Trashicho Dzong which stands on left side of Thimphu. This Dzong is the home of the main secretariat of the government, offices of the King, ministries of Home Affairs and Finance and also the throne of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan. It is an impressive large structure, surrounded by well-kept lawns and beautiful gardens. Overnight Stay
Day 3 : THIMPHU - PARO
Today sightseeing starts with the National Memorial Chorten, Traditional Medicine Institute, National Library, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum and School of 13 Arts & Crafts. Trashicho Dzong stands on left side of Thimphu. This Dzong is the home of the main secretariat of the government, offices of the King, ministries of Home Affairs and Finance and also the throne of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan. It is an impressive large structure, surrounded by well-kept lawns and beautiful gardens. After Lunch, Continued sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit the Takin mini zoo, Zilukha Nunnery, General Post Office and traditional paper factory. Proceed back to Paro which is 1 hours and 30 minutes away from Thimphu. Have a stroll in Paro town. Along the main street, there is a complex of traditional architecture with richly decorated buildings housing small shops, institutions and restaurants. Evening programme will be visiting the local farm house where you can experience the making of the famous local dish “ema datshi” (Chilli & Cheese) and have a taste of their local rice wine “Ara”. Day 4 : PARO
Today, visit the Taktsang Monastry also known as Tiger Nest Monastry. It is perched precariously on a side of a cliff. Guru Padmasambhava, known as the Second Buddha, arrived on a flying tigress and meditated at this shrine in the second half of the 8th century. As a result, it is the dream destination for Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world. Overnight Stay
Day 5 : DEPARTURE BACK HOME
