Day 1 : Arrival – Kumai – National Park – Houseboat
Arriving at the airport, you will be picked up then transfer to Kumai harbor, cross the Sekonyer River for about 15 minutes by boat called klothok. It is the beginning of your trip to Tanjung Puting National Park. Along the way upstream, you will see the different trees vegetation. Stop at first station (Tanjung harapan) to see orangutan feeding at 3 p.m. In addition, in the afternoon, it is the right time to see proboscis monkeys (long nose monkeys), macaques, and kind of birds. And in the evening You can see colonies of fire fly. Stay overnight on the boat.
Day 2 : Houseboat – National Park – Houseboat
After morning breakfast on the boat, start to PONDOK TANGGUI, the second station. The orangutan feeding on the platform at 9 a.m. Afterwards, continue your trip to CAMP LEAKEY, the third station. Along the way to this station, you can see macaques, kind of birds, fishes, and crocodiles. Afternoon, walk around the camp. This camp is usually used by OFI (Orangutan Foundantion International) to have research, then to the next feeding at 2 p.m in this camp. Back to the boat.
Day 3 : Houseboat – Kumai – Kubung Dayak Village
After morning breakfast on the boat, before back to Kumai, then transfer to Kubung (Dayak) by tvehicle for about 5 hours . Along the way to Kubung, passing thru the oil palm plantation and beautiful hills. Upon arrival at Kubung village at about 3 p.m. visit “Rumah Betang” or “Long house” , the place where you will have overnight. You will have time to have short visit around the village, witnessing the local communities…stay overnight in the village.
Day 4 : Kubung Dayak Village
After morning breakfast, trekking to the jungle which rich of flora and Fauna , witnessing local people daily live, see the people live in harmony…, stay overnight in the jungle.
Day 5 : Kubung Dayak Village – Pangkalan Bun
After breakfast in the jungle with their fresh air, again you will see the local daily live, how they do farming for supporting their if any activities, you could join them….afternoon back to Long house, passing thru the water fall, back to Pangkalan Bun, stay overnight..
Day 6 : Hotel – Airport
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your next destination.
