Package Overview

Desert National Park, located 40 km from Jaisalmer , the Desert National Park in Rajasthan boasts of being one of the largest national parks in India. Spreading across 3,162sq.km., this wildlife abode showcases the perfect ecosystem of the great Thar Desert. Unlike other wildlife reserves in Rajasthan, it mainly comprises of sand dunes, salt water reservoirs, craggy rocks, and a scarce of vegetation.
Known for its wide range of avifauna and large fossil collection, one can embark on jeep safaris across the Desert National Park to witness its unique charm and come face-to-face with its dwellers. Indian Bustard, Larks, Tawny Eagles, Sandgrouse, Demoiselle Cranes, Falcons, Partridges, Houbara Bustards, and Bee-Eaters are some of the most commonly found birds in this national park in Rajasthan. Among the other species, visitors can spot Bengal Fox, Monitor Lizard, Blackbuck, Desert Fox, Russell’s Viper, Wolf, Chinkara, Saw-scaled Vipers, and several other rare wildlife species.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival At Jodhpur and Head Towards Jaisalmer

  • We meet at Jodhpur Airport / Railway station in the morning and proceed towards Jaisalmer.
  • From there we reach to our stay for freshen up and have Lunch .
  • After a small rest we leave for Jaisalmer City tour for Gadisagar Lake . One can do boating and photography at the lake ( At your Own Cost ).
  • Come back to our stay and have a small documentary on Desert National Park.
  • Dinner and overnight stay .

  • Themes Forts and Palaces, Jungle Safari, Jeep Safari
• Day 2 : Jaisalmer Sightseeing and Proceed to Desert National Park

  • Wake-up call. Tea/coffee with cookies.
  • Breakfast.
  • We will visit Jaisalmer Fort and Patwa Haveli in the Morning .
  • Come back for Lunch .
  • After lunch we head for Desert National Park and Check in to the camp.
  • We depart for our first safari ( Exploration for species like Saw-scaled viper, Monitor lizard, etc. )
  • Come back to the camp for evening tea and snacks and discussion about the days findings .
  • Dinner and Overnight stay in the luxurious tented accommodation ( Twin Sharing basis )

  • Themes Jungle Safari, Jeep Safari
• Day 3 : Desert National Park

  • Wake-up call. Tea/coffee with cookies.
  • Breakfast.
  • Morning exploration of scrubs and grasslands. This area is good for herps like sand snakes, Brilliant ground agama,etc. Besides herps one can also spot Great India Bustards, Desert Fox, Gerbils, etc
  • Come back Lunch at the camp site.
  • Head to Nabh Dongar for Afternoon Safari to scan the rocky terrain. Good place for species like Indian spiny-tailed lizard, Sind Sand gecko, Persia Sand Gecko, etc
  • Come back to the camp for the evening refreshment .
  • Campfire and dinner.

  • Themes Jungle Safari, Jeep Safari, Sightseeing
• Day 4 : Back to Jaisalmer

  • Wake-up call. Tea/coffee with cookies.
  • Breakfast.
  • Jeep safari in the morning for clicking pictures and Morning exploration of scrubs and grasslands. This area is good for herps like sand snakes, Brilliant ground agama, etc. Besides herps, one can also spot Great India Bustards, Desert Fox, Gerbils, etc.
  • Leave for Jaisalmer for Lunch . Drop to Airport / Railway Stn.
  • Tour ends after the lunch
