Arrive in Delhi and transfers to hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure with the chance to explore the bustling metropolis. Delhi combines the ancient with the modern. Amidst the modern buildings and colonial architecture can be found many monuments standing as silent reminders of the region’s ancient
Transfer by metro train and begin sightseeing through Old Delhi, the former capital of Mughal dynasty. Visit the stunning monuments and Jama Masjid, one of Asia’s largest and most beautiful mosques. This is followed by an insightful tour of current capital New Delhi – visit Qutb Minar the tallest stone tower of India, the complex of buildings for the Mughal emperor Humuyan’s tomb and the intricate Birla Temple.
Journey by train to Ranthambore National Park which lies amidst the Arvalli ranges in eastern Rajasthan, a mix of lush valleys and rolling hills and a favourite amongst photographers because of the likelihood of sighting the iconic Royal Bengal Tiger in breathtaking surroundings
Morning and afternoon game drives, with the opportunity to see some of India’s richest and most diverse wildlife with over 270 species of birds, 12 reptiles (including the marsh crocodile) and 30 mammals (including sambar deer, the largest in Asia).
In the morning travel by train to Bharatpur. On arrival transfer by road to Agra to visit Agra Fort, a World Heritage Site, an exquisite example of Mughal architecture. Visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, built as a marble mausoleum for the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal and is one of the new 7 wonders of the modern world. The building was commissioned in 1631 and took 20,000 artisans over 22 years to complete – an absolute necessity for any visit to India, this will coincide with sunset, a truly unique and spiritual experience. After a train journey to Jhansi, drive to Orchha for a tour of this quaint, picture-book hamlet, steeped in history, founded in 1501 by the Bundela chief and a true representation of the quiet and rural India. Continue to Khajuraho for an overnight stay
Spend the morning visiting the famous and beguiling temples of Khajuraho. One of India’s premier attractions, home of the largest collection of medieval Hindu and Jain temples produced with spectacular intricacy, some of which are the renowned erotic carvings, enabling you to balance between art and architecture.
Afternoon drive to Bandhavgarh National Park, covering 450sq km of the landscapes of Madhya Pradesh, and dominated by the imposing bastions of its famous fortress, boasting the highest concentration of tigers in India. Legendary home to the elusive white tigers of Rewa, hear the cries of macaques, lemurs, hornbills and fish eagles.
Spend the morning and afternoon of both days on game drives. Bandhavgarh offers some excellent chances for spotting tiger, leopard and sloth bear, as well as a vast array of birdlife that includes Steppe Eagles, paradise-flycatchers and Blue-bearded Bee eaters.

After a game drive in the morning continue by road to Kanha, the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book. Kanha is an expansive wilderness of forested valleys and plateaus that present one of the most spectacular parks in Asia
Kanha is blessed with a dazzling array of birdlife, with over 300 species recorded here. It’s also probably one of the best locations in India to view the elusive tiger with any degree of regularity, as well as being home to Indian bison, leopard and the unique barasingha (swamp deer), dramatically saved from the brink of extinction.
