The trek from Joshimath to Kuari Pass is one of the prominent things done by Lord Curzon in India to establish a hill station. He popularised the marquee trek in Garhwal Himalayas. It is situated at an altitude of 4264 meters, Kuari top is like an amphitheater where some of the summits of the Himalayas. It is your chance to view the impressive skyline.
Joshimath is the starting point of the trek which is in the Chamoli district of the Himalayas and most of the trekkers prefert to come here time and again. It is also a confluences of several rivers like The Pinder, the devprayag, The Karnaprayag, and Rudraprayag. The trek moves towards remote villages of HImalayas. The forest is etched with pug marks of bears and leopards.
The trek is refreshing, luxurious meadows and commonly called ‘Bugyals’ in the native language. There is also a chance to visit Auli here. Our team will take you to Kuari pass and help you enjoy the view.
Day 1 : Haridwar to Joshimath
The journey starts from Haridwar and drive will take you to the next point thorough famous Badrinath road. The enthusiast about water sports will have some fun at Rishikesh. The nine-hour-long drive to Joshimath will give some mesmerizing views. River moving along gets wider uphill and all you need is to keep the camera ready to capture the moments of life.
Day 2 : Joshimath to Gullingtop
There are collective ice peaks that will meet us on Joshimath and just after taking the breakfast, we will move towards Dhak village in the same tehsil. There is a rocky drive of about a quarter to an hour. We will then commence to the gentle slopes. The gentle ups and downs on the hills look like a lying lady when you look from above. The trek then starts from Dhak along a steady slope and there will be a couple of t shaped turns. By late afternoon, you will be at Gulliing Top point to enjoy the snow-laden forests in your own way.
Day 3 : Gulling top to Tali Forest Camp
It will be a fiver hour-long journey that would take the path of the jungle. This particular trek will be less arduous as compared to the previous one. The next gradient will be smooth relatively and it will allow us an enjoyable hike.
We will come to lush green and overlook the magnificent snow peaks after the 20 minutes hike. White and Pink blossoms are the attraction here in late March. The second camp on the trek will be pitched on the thickening snow. The path then leads to Hathi-Ghori peaks that manifest gloriously along the Dronagiri.
Day 4 : Tali forest camp to Kuari pass and back via Khullara top
Day four will be the busiest and tiresome or you can say that true trekking day will take around ten to eleven hours with halts depending on the pace of the team. The need of the day will be geared for high snow. There will be no water sources and we need to take along ours. First of all we will move up to the Khullara top where a moderate slope upwards. There will be breaks every 15 minutes to catch your breath and you can afford a long break only after 2 hours of the trek. Lunch will be taken on the way after reaching the base of the Kuari high pass. The suspense part of the trek will be revealed automatically with a panoramic view of Kedarnath peak, Kedardome, Chaukhamba, Balakuan, Neelkhanta, Nanda Devi etc.
Day 5 : Tali forest camp- Joshimath via Gurson Bugyal and Auli
On day 5, we will be heading towards Auli which is 9680ft high above sea level and one of the most famous in south Asia. Passing through the Bugyals of Gorson is a hassle-free climb and is on smooth terrain. Skying is done in the season of March.
After you reach Auli, a cable car will transport you to Joshimath. This would be the end of the trek today and you will enjoy the stay thereupon.
Day 6 : Joshimath to Haridwar
The ride starts early in the morning as it is 256 kms long drive in the Himalayas and it would take around ten long hours to reach Haridwar. Breakfast and lunch would be done at roadside Inn.
