Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Cellular Jail, located at Port Blair, stood mute witness to the tortures meted out to the freedom fighters, who were incarcerated in this jail. The jail, completed in the year 1906 acquired the name ‘Cellular’ because it is entirely made up of individual cells for the solitary confinement. It originally was a seven prolonged, puce- coloured building with central-tower acting as its fulcrum and a massive structure comprising honeycomb like corridors. The Jail premises houses National Memorial houses, Freedom Fighters Photo and Exhibition Gallery, an Art Gallery, Netaji Gallery and a Library on Freedom Movement. Gallery on First War of Independence and on Old Photographs Gallery have also been set up in the premises of the National Memorial. An eternal flame of Freedom-Swatantrya Jyot has been erected in the vicinity of the Cellular Jail in memory of all freedom fighters and martyrs. Carbyn's Cove Beach is one of the cleanest beaches that you may have ever seen. The drive to the beach is a stunning visual treat. You will get quite a view of the Marina Park, the pristine blue sea lining along the entire route. Corbyn’s Cove has a small curve of sand backed by palms. The coastal road here is a scenic journey, and passes several Japanese WWII bunkers along the way. In the evening, enjoy the Light and Sound Show at Cellular Jail.The saga of the heroic freedom struggle, brought alive in a moving Son-et-Lumiere (Light and Sound Show), in the Cellular Jail, is very popular among the tourists. Two Hindi shows on all days at 6:00 pm and at 7:15 pm except on Monday, Wednesday & Friday when second show is in English at 7:15 pm.

• Day 2 : Ross Island, North Bay

  The place gives picturesque views from all around. Ross still has ruins of some of the buildings that were built during British period. Though they have now been engulfed by the roots of huge trees but watching these buildings makes one nostalgic. The place can boast of the ruins of a British Church, Mansion, Market etc. There is also a small museum that has pictures taken and drawn in those times. The back side of the Ross Island gives a lovely view of the open sea. You can sit for hours reveling in the cool breeze and the amazing sea view. Next stop will be North Bay Islands, which offers wide array of water activities that one can enjoy. Sea walk has recently been introduced. Along with sea walk, you can do jet ski, speed water boat ride, snorkeling and other such activities at the beautiful North Bay Island.

  After checking out, you bid good bye to Port Blair and head to the Airport with memories and promise to come back again.
