First Wildflower Walk
Arrive at our first stop on the Swan Coastal Plain: a well-known location for magnificent displays of vivid red and green kangaroo paws, stunning catspaws, numerous orchids as well as milkmaids, running postmen, woolly bushes, stinkwoods and many more. We take the time to identify, examine, touch, smell and photograph the different species, big and small and watch the many pollinators at work. This is a very unique experience and we take our time as there is no rush.

Morning Tea - time for a cuppa
Amazed by the number of species we have already discovered and invigorated by our walk, we enjoy a cup of our favourite brew as there is a great selection from which to choose plus biscuits and home-made cake or muffins. An opportunity to chat with your fellow passengers, the botanical guide and the coach captain; compare photos and ask questions.

More Wildflower Walks
For the remainder of the morning we will visit several locations both on the Darling Escarpment and in the foothills. Destinations will vary according to flower abundance and time of season. All walks undertaken are at a leisurely pace to ensure maximum species’ sightings for all group members. Note: Walks are conducted over low gradients and uneven surfaces so a reasonable level of fitness is required

Picnic Lunch in a bushland setting
Bon appétit!! A deliciously fresh picnic lunch awaits in a sheltered, bushland setting. A little, babbling creek flows close by and you may be lucky enough to hear a quacking frog or catch a glimpse of some splendid blue wrens who are regular visitors; venturing close to the picnic tables.

Afternoon Forest Foray
The afternoon focuses on the jarrah and marri forests on the top of the Escarpment which provide a wonderful contrast to the species found earlier in the day on the Coastal Plain. Be on the lookout for water peas, cow kicks, bunjongs and hairy jug flowers as well as striking blue lechenaultia, rambling coral vine and native clematis.

Orchard Visit
Depart our last port of call for the day: one of the many orchards located in the Darling Ranges which, with cooler temperatures and higher rainfall, provide the ideal environment for fruit-growing (apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, plums, persimmons and avocados). Throughout the spring afternoon, as well as wildflowers, we will also enjoy valley vistas with blossom-laden fruit trees. Many of these orchards are operated by third generation Italian Australians so what better way to end the afternoon than with a delicious Italian-made gelato.
