Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : (Alt: 11500 / 3505 M) - Acclimatization / Orientation

  Arrive Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. After welcome drinks / breakfast at the hotel, take complete rest for acclimatization to the high altitude. In the late afternoon, visit the city centre and walk through the markets for general orientation, followed by a visit to Shanti Stupa, which offers spectacular evening views of the valley. Overnight at the hotel.

• Day 2 : Leh - Alchi / Likir Circuit / 145 kms round trip / 4-5 hours

  After breakfast proceed on sightseeing tour of the Alchi-Likir circuit, visiting first the 15th century Likir Monastery, and then the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex of Ladakh and famous for its frescoes and architecture - a UNESCO listed heritage site. After sightseeing and lunch here, drive back to Leh, en-route visiting Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar rivers), Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Hall of Fame (museum of military heritage). Overnight at hotel.
• Day 3 : Leh- Thiksey - Pangong Lake / approx. 155 kms / 6 hours

  After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft./ 5486 meters) 3rd. highest motorable pass in the world. On the way you may visit the 12-storey Thiksey Monastery dating form the 16th century. Pangong Lake (alt: 14,500 ft.), the largest brackish water lake of Asia, is 4-5 kms wide and about135 kms long, about two-third of which lies on the other side of the Indo-China border. After full day of leisurely sightseeing at the lake, check-in at a fixed camp near the lake for overnight stay.

  • Hotspots Pangong Lake
• Day 4 : Pangong Lake - Hemis- Leh / Approx. 160 kms. / 6 hours

  After breakfast, leave Pangong and retrace the road to Leh via Chang-la pass. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus to visit the 17th century Hemis Monastery, biggest & richest monastery of Ladakh. Thereafter drive on to Leh, reaching in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
• Day 5 : Excursion to Khardongla / 39 kms / One way

  After breakfast proceed on excursion to Khardong-La (alt: 18,390 ft. / 5602 M), highest motorable pass in the world. The pass offers spectacular views of the Zanskar range beyond the Indus Valley in the south, and the Saser massif in the north. After the excursion, rest of the day is at leisure to explore the markets for shopping etc. Overnight at the hotel.

• Day 6 : Transfer to Airport

  Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home.
