Also known as the “The First Mactan-Mandaue Bridge”, Mactan-Mandaue Bridge is first of two bridges spanning across the Mactan Channel. 846-meter long and 9-meter wide, the box truss bridge connects the islands of Cebu and Mactan.
History
The Bridge was constructed during the term of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Designed by Filipino engineers, the construction of the bridge began in 1970. Officially inaugurated on July 4, 1971, the bridge was finished in 1972 at a cost of 65 million pesos.
