The Albert Falls Dam Nature Reserve, established in 1975, is a popular tourist destination for tourists from all over the world. The uMngeni River flows through the countryside of KwaZulu Natal and meets the Lions River just before arriving at Midmar Dam. The river then plunges into a fall of 111 meters and then meets the Karkloof tributary at the uMngeni Valley. The river then flows through the Albert Falls Dam.
