Founders and friends, Rika Groenewald and Mariska Griffin, both adore travel but were frustrated working with people who did not share the same ethical values that they are so passionate about. While Mariska was employed at a game lodge based in the Madikwe Game Reserve, Rika was working in the travel industry. It was during this time that Mariska and Rika identified a gap in the African travel destination market when they came to realise that there was a strong need for high-quality itineraries filled with in-depth knowledge, cultivated by a strong attention to detail. This presented them with the perfect opportunity to create a travel company which can combine excellent service and knowledge of the highest international standards, establishing eXplore Plus Travel & Tours as a leader in groundbreaking African travel. Not only do they share 35 years of industry experience, but they have also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro 11 times! This just goes to show how adventurous and passionate they truly are!
